Re: Bimmercode App experience?

Only thing I did notice is my battery mileage seem to increase by about 15% is this normal? Saving coding changes can reset the computer modules involved such that driving history is deleted. This can change the predicted range until one drives enough to establish a driving history used for more ac...

Re: Workhorse W-15 Truck will use the i3 REx engine to get 310 miles...how?

How do we know this is the i3 engine? I find that highly unlikely, the statement says 1.5 L 3 cylinder. The REx engine used is confusing. Workhorse's own Website doesn't specify the W-15 Pickup's REx engine, but it does specify the BMW i3's W20 REx engine in its larger e-Gen step van (UPS delivery ...

Re: What Range do you get with real world conditions?

ps CO2 makes plants grow faster, CO2 doesn't have a considerable impact on climate, see Svensmark research for instance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1qGOUIRac0 Yes, CO2 makes plants grow faster. However, no matter what you state, the fact is that almost no atmospheric scientists anywhere in the ...

Re: Long Term idling in low SoC - Impact on battery

I wonder if you weren't accessing the car, i.e., it was sitting, locked, with no action trying to open it or do something, if that's the same scenario. From your description, it seems that each time you've noticed, it was when the car was being accessed for some reason. I doubt that the high-voltag...

Re: Long Term idling in low SoC - Impact on battery

My 12 V voltmeter indicates that the DC-DC converter can turn on to charge the 12 V battery when an i3 is in the operating readiness (unlock the doors) or radio readiness (turn on the entertainment system) states as well when the 12 V voltage drops below a certain level (~12.0 V as best I can tell)...

Re: Long Term idling in low SoC - Impact on battery

It will not try to charge the 12vdc battery other than when plugged in or in ready state, as far as I can tell, though. My 12 V voltmeter indicates that the DC-DC converter can turn on to charge the 12 V battery when an i3 is in the operating readiness (unlock the doors) or radio readiness (turn on...

Re: Long Term idling in low SoC - Impact on battery

There are likely many i3 REx's that are parked for significant periods at an indicated charge level of ~6%, the REx automatic activation charge level, even though BMW doesn't recommend this. There might be i3 REx drivers who never charge and always drive with the REx engine running. I don't believe ...

Re: Press Release on new Bridgestones for the i3

So you would see no problem with fitting the "fronts" of new tire sizes (with wheels) all-around on an older i3? 2014-2016 i3 BEV's with 427 wheels (standard on North American Mega World) had the same size wheels and tires front and rear (not sure about the slightly heavier 2017-2018 mode...

Re: Help! Would an i3 suit us??!

Done some more 'research' and have decided to get a post 2017 94aH car as it will do most (all?) of our local travel. What can I expect as the normal range with 'easy' driving and temperate weather - 250kms/150miles? Smart decision! The 60 Ah i3 BEV is rated by the U.S. E.P.A. at 81 mi/130 km range...

Re: Can't charge level 2

there is a screen when i turn the car off that shows last charging and it always says level 1 I recently noticed that this screen on our 2014 BEV also indicates that the most recent charge was at Level 1. When we first purchased our i3 in 2014, I tested its OUC for a couple of minutes which it the ...
