Re: How do you remove cupholder under front armrest?

Another thing that seems heavier than it should are the two plastic and cloth trim panels either side of the frunk under the bonnet. The worst weight abuse is the glass rear hatch cover. Not only is it fragile and expensive to replace (the hatch can't be repaired), but it is considerably heavier th...

Any popular easy weight savings?

Remove it from your car! Drinking while driving makes messy spills more likely.

Re: Can I use all the gas in rex before your electric miles

A REx is propelled by energy from its battery pack regardless of whether the REx generator is running, so no transition in driving mode occurs when a REx engine runs out of fuel. The REx engine will just stop running so it will no longer be adding energy to the high-voltage system. The car will cont...

Re: Fixing a borken J1772

The latch tooth/latch pin design seems to be a weakness in the J1772 standard. I have encountered several public charging stations with broken latch teeth which made using them very unreliable. Any disturbance of the charging cable or plug could stop the charging. And many i3 owners have had problem...

Re: Lock & Unlock with Remote is unique behavior

Like , if my car is parked outside, i like to check in the evening,, if my car is locked. That's easily done using the BMW Connected app. My older Neighbor Lady the other day spent a long time , to find her car in the hospital parking, and she called me to find it. Apparently, she was not able to f...

Re: 2017 REx Fuel Tank size

And why wouldn't the REx start if you sucked the lines dry? Isn't that a pretty normal thing for any gasoline engine? A fuel pump is lubricated and cooled by gasoline, so running it dry isn't good for its longevity. When air enters the pump, pumping could stop. Air in the fuel lines would cause the...

Re: Measuring battery

Where is lifetime average in app? I only see last trip. Android. I am interested in learning whether the Android version of the BMW Connected app shows the correct lifetime electrical consumption average. On the iOS version, the main screen includes "Remote", "eDrive", and "...

BMW didn't limit the usable fuel amount in i3's with the 94 Ah battery pack (most 2017 i3's and later).

Re: Lock & Unlock with Remote is unique behavior

Does anyone know how to silence the locking and unlocking? I bought a used i3 and it was silent. Had the dealer work on it and now it beeps upon lock and unlock. Before I deliver our i3 to the dealer for scheduled maintenance, I always back up our driver profiles to a USB flash drive. This can be d...
