Re: Serious i3 Security Problems

... Unless car companies are forced, every one at car companies is mostly focused on new products. By new, i mean the Goals which were set by CEO 2 years back. .... So, this is something where a government agency would need to step in and demand a fix/recall? NTSB? If so, they probably wouldn't get...

Re: Serious i3 Security Problems

At first reviewing the document, it just seemed like the ODBII and usb interfaces would be the only real points of entry - easy bandaid would be not to leave your wireless odbii plugged in and be skeptical of all usb storage that has left your sight (really this should be done for all USB storage de...

Re: Tips on finding/buying an i3

What we did for our second i3 (we still have our first one): - We opted for a 2015 CPO - that .9% or less APR for 60 months they were offering was attractive - Search the CPO inventory for the entire United States through BMW's inventory search tool - you'll be able to set the parameters down to whi...

Re: Warranty replacement of 12 V battery

Update on the "battery issue" - After telling them I wont take back the car with just a 12v battery swap (#3), they investigated further and found a power draw....they ordered a BDC to see if it will resolve the issue...hopefully it'll fix the issue...driving around a 7 series loaner feels...

Re: Warranty replacement of 12 V battery

We are on 12v battery #3 in less than a year for our second i3 (replaced during CPO process in Jan, replaced again in April, replaced again today) This particular i3, we drive everyday and have put 10K miles on it during our 7 months of owernship.... The service tech tried to pawn off that the i3's ...

Price your BMW dealership charges for oil changes?

Greetings All,

For those of you who paid for the oil change in your i3 Rex - can you tell us what you the dealership charged?

Also if you had the annual inspection, brake fluid check/flush,etc - what were you charged?

Thanks!

Information on the 12v charging system?

After about 5 months our second i3, will be on a third 12v battery.... First time it was swapped during the CPO process, then swapped out again after 1 week of ownership (battery warnings)...now the i3 is back in the shop again for a bunch of faults (in addition to saying battery has insufficient ch...

Re: Is there a way to keep the REx on to keep 75% SOC while parked/idle?

If the REx is running and the car is idle, it will be adding power to the battery much faster than the AC will use it. So even in hold mode it would shut off at 75%. You could of course start with a lower charge on the battery and let it build. I've had different results. I noticed while having the...

Is there a way to keep the REx on to keep 75% SOC while parked/idle?

Greetings All, With hurricane season here, I was reevaluating out backup procedures should we be stuck in the path and without power for 7+ days.... Is there a way to keep the REx engine running and producing enough energy to keep 75% SOC while idled/parked running the AC? I recall a while back read...
