Sport Wheels on a 2017 REx

I really wanted custom wheels but it seemed impossible to find any that would actually fit, then I came across a set of wheels and tires from a 2018 sport model. They are just what I was looking for. Custom and yet still BMW i3. They do stick out a little more in the fender which I really like. http...

Re: A week into this world of i3 ownership ...

Congratulations on your new car. Hope you are still loving it it. I just found that the dial for the AC temperature has a small display above the number that shows which direction the vents are blowing. It's so small I had noticed it. Also the trip odometer is reset with small near invisible button ...

Re: Windshield Replacement Hell (or maybe Heck)

What was mind boggling about the dealership was they actually said I had to order the windshield from their parts department and transferred me there. The parts department seemed upset I did not have the VIN number handy, because "how can they order a part if they don't know which car I have?&q...

Windshield Replacement Hell (or maybe Heck)

My still pristine 2017 i3 REx took a rock to the windshield and now I need a new one. The crack was 12 inches long before I even got off the freeway. I have the very expensive BMW windshield coverage it helps out with NOTHING here. It only fixes chips. My insurance USAA says take it to Safelight $74...

Aftermarket wheels avaiable in 2018.

It seems very hard to find aftermarket wheels for the i3 vs other BMWs. Obviously the wheels are tall and skinny vs. most other cars. In any case I thought I'd make a list here of any that I can find, and hope others can add some. Tire Rack sells the 19" rail wheels in black or silver https://c...

Re: Parking/charging heating and 12V

I have wondered about some of these things myself. I just picked up a 175Wat inverter with 2 110V AC plugs and 2 USB ports. It plugs into the cigarette lighter. I thought I'd try running an extension cord into the house and powering some LED light bulbs to see if I could have 110V power in an outage...

Always charge to 100%?

I am fortunate that my office provides free charging, and has enough chargers that I can park and charge all day while I am at work. We have six chargers and I've never seen more than 4 in use on my shift (I work 2PM to 10PM. My commute is 12 miles so I usually don't charge at home. So for best batt...
