Re: How do you run the heating or radio without starting the car?

So it does - I'm sure the radio never used to work.
The heating option Is a bit of a faff but good to know. Used to be a single button on my old 3 series.

Thanks

How do you run the heating or radio without starting the car?

Is there any way to use the radio or heating without pressing stop/start?

Re: Precondition batteries without charging

The battery heating is only necessary for longer ranges and faster DC charging. The liftime won‘t decrease if you drive with a cold battery. By having a warm battery then in the long term the battery will have gone through less charge/discharge cycles. If you only do low annual mileage then maybe n...

Re: Effect of preconditioning on range?

Taking readings from the hidden battery temperature menu I'm getting around 5 to 6 degrees C increase in battery temperature when preconditioning. This is off a slow 10amp 240v charger. I try to precondition the batteries when the outside temperature drops below 10 degrees C. I've no real need to ch...

Re: Connected Drive fail(s)

It may depend on where you live...in the USA, that service continues after the warranty expires. I'm not positive that's also true for other markets. It helps to put a location in your profile so people can see, as the car does differ somewhat based on where it was sold. There are people from numer...

Re: Connected Drive fail(s)

I have a 94Ah 2016 i3BEV. I recently went on holiday and left my cat not plugged into a charger as had 80% charge, but forgot to turn off the preconditioning. I tried to turn it off at the airport via the Connected app and via the portal but no joy. I could see my charge state drop every day, so it ...

Re: Charging and conditioning (warming) the battery

Thanks for the reply.
As long as I have 50% charge when leaving for work (28 miles each way) then I'm happy. As we are in the middle of a heatwave I'm not plugging the car in at all when I get home.

Charging and conditioning (warming) the battery

Hi, I have a 90Ah BEV. At home I only have a slow charger (10amp @ 240v). What takes priority when the car is plugged into a slow charger? Charging or Conditioning? So as an example, lets say I plan to leave in 3.5 hours and the battery is half charged, so set the schedule up for that so that the ba...

Re: How do you remove cupholder under front armrest?

This is the 1st car I've had with forged wheels.
If I ever fitted different wheels to a car I always tried to fit lighter ones - my old 1 Series had Oz Superleggeras on with winter tyres and they were very light for cast wheels, but a real pain to clean - the i3 wheels are so quick to clean.

Re: How do you remove cupholder under front armrest?

Keep forgetting about mixing metals even though I have a large stash of used single use silver plated nuts and bolts reclaimed from a skip at my old job.
Is anodising aluminium enough to stop the corrosion?
