Re: New Owner from Denver!

Thank you for welcoming me! I would definitely check out FB. I will check both JB and CC systems. Yeah I agree about the highest rated breaker. What system do you have at home if you have one setup? Personally I prefer to use the JuiceBox Pro 40, and I test & write reviews for charging stations...

Re: New i3 owner from TX

Thanks. I'm in the market for a 40 amp EVSE and have researched Clipper Creek and Juice Box pro Lite (the no frills version) Both are made in the US. JB says they use both domestic and foreign parts, CC says domestic. I'm not sure how you can really tell these days. I think both are UL approved ? C...

2019 i3 REx Discontinued in Europe

There's been a bunch of news posts on various sites today station that BMW has discontinued the range extender option for 2019 along with adding a larger battery which is now 42 kWh. The larger battery is true, and it should increase the EPA rated range to about 150 miles per charge. As for the rang...

Re: Which Home Charging Station Do You use?

I'm using a Juicebox Pro 40. I have a Nema 14-50 outlet installed in the garage, with the Juicebox Pro plugged into it. I consider the Nema 14-50 outlet to be the 'standard' for EVSE equipment. You would need a good reason NOT to install a 14-50 outlet. The Nema 14-50 and the wire from the electric...

Re: New 2018 i3s owner

To my surprise the advertised electric range has been well over 100 miles. With temps rising here in the northeast I have averaged 120-125 miles in eco pro or eco pro+ mode. My vehicle average says 3.9 kwh but with these numbers I'm doing more around 4.4kwh. Are you describing your actual driving r...

Which Home Charging Station Do You use?

Hi All, I know many here have asked about which home charging stations are the best. I've done some reviews on various EVSEs and posted them here in the past. I just did another of the JuiceBox Pro 40, so I wanted to put the link here for anyone interested. Also, please comment on this thread which ...

Re: depreciation of the i3

I'm strongly coming to the conclusion the 2018 i3 & S will devalue a lot faster due to its been around since 2012 and I'm seeing some really low second hand pricing. BM\W should have sold the sports vision from the start but it was a learning curve for BMW and now their is only 2-3 years before...

Re: New issue: Must read if you have a 2014 i3

Thanks Tom, great summary. I will check mine asap! How can we check what software issue the car has? I'm not sure you can. I see you're in the UK so I don't know how BMW is handling this issue there, but if you have a 2014 with a decent amount of mileage (over 25k or so), then I'd recommend you loo...

New issue: Must read if you have a 2014 i3

Many of the early 2014 deliveries and especially the higher mileage cars have begun to experience a problem with incorrect state of charge values. It's causing considerable issues especially for REx owners. Here's a rundown of the problem and what you should do: http://bmwi3.blogspot.com/2017/03/inc...
