Conky doesn't resize or reposition in i3

I'm on Ubuntu 16.04.3, and I've got GNOME as a default desktop environment. I'm trying to get conky to work, and I can change the transparency, and time version (12 or 24 hour), but I can't change the position or size. However, I can do all of the aforementioned in gnome.
