I think it was noted as to how you can have the cruise control work without the advanced feature of breaking for slowing traffic ahead. Am I right? If anyone knows how I can disable this feature please let me know.

I am confused by your question. Do you want to enable normal cruise control?

To enable normal cruise control, turn on the cruise control system. Drive the speed you want to set, then press and hold the follow distance button on the steering wheel (either button) . A different cruise icon will light up on the dash.

To turn off the ACC and revert to a 'dumb' CC, press and hold the distance control button until the symbol changes. This is all discussed in the owner's manual, the app version, in the car, and the printed version. You can press that button again to restore ACC, or it will automatically revert to that after an off/on cycle.
