I am aware that the car communicates with BMW including but not limited to sending tracking information. how can I turn this off?
Do I have to disconnect the shark fin aerial ? I never use the cars Internet capability and I am not interested in speaking to BMW concierge or using their emergency service.

An i3 uses its cellular transceiver to communicate with BMW's servers. You could disconnect the power from this transceiver (under the rear seat?). This might set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

Apparently, a 10-year subscription to this service was included in the original i3 purchase. Maybe you could ask BMW to discontinue this service.

If you use real-time traffic information (RTTI), send destinations to your i3, or use one of BMW's smartphone apps, you'd lose these functionalities.
