Greetings All,

I was curious if there was a way to set the "hold charge" higher than what the current SOC is on a coded REX? For example, if at 45% current SOC, I would like to set it for 70. If this is possible, can one set the car to idle so it can charge the battery?

Not that I'm aware of.

The maximum hold value (unless almost empty) is the SOC when you shut the car off, so it could just keep going down under some conditions on numerous shorter trips.

BMW does offer the ability to recharge the main batteries from the ICE on other models, but they also have much larger ICE motors than the i3.
