Did BMW install a magnetic oil drain plug as OEM ?

If not, does the REx use a 12 mm oil drain plug like every other BMW car since 2002 - or the 16 mm plug that comes with all other 650 cc engines (on BMW motorcycles) (per my understanding).

Recently bought a used 2015 i3 REx Giga with 17,999 miles.

16mm plug like on a motorcycle.

Too bad these links don't work anymore, but I'm currently looking for the same replacement for my OEM rounded out drain plug. The OEM design is far too shallow and the metal is too soft, but finding a replacement plug by name, or finding the specs of the original plug are nigh impossible.

16mm should be the same as M16 in descriptions, correct?

In case anyone else is trying to remove and replace their stripped oil plug, I got lucky with my first attempt and ordered THIS magnetic, "outer" hex-style drain plug from Amazon that fit perfectly and was far easier to screw back in without the fear of stripping.

And if that link stops working, just search for a drain plug with "M16x1.5" thread and that should probably work fine.

I also ordered an "inner" hex bolt removal kit but didn't end up needing it because I came up with a much cheaper idea while it was on its way to me. I cut out a small piece of paper and wrapped it around my hex socket to help fill in the gaps of the stripped head and create some extra friction between the metals. Didn't take much force to finally crack the bolt loose.

The BMW i3 REx uses a 12 mm oil drain plug, like many other BMW cars since 2002. The i3 REx is equipped with a two-cylinder gasoline-powered range extender engine that is based on the engine used in the BMW C 650 GT motorcycle, but the oil drain plug size is the same as that used in other BMW cars.
