Thanks to the forum admin for creating this space for Regional discussions.

Well, here you have it : Belgium!

I signed my purchasing order on the Nov. 16 at Ginion (Waterloo) : BEV Advanced version, white, Lodge, Adaptive lights, heated seats, Pro Nav (offered), ConnectedDrive services, Driving Assistant Plus and 428 wheels.
Delivery date : between 16 and 20 Jan!!! Right before the Brussels Motor show.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the car in my garage.

The only things I'm wary about are the accompanying "360° Electric" services (ChargeNow and Add-on Mobility). Contrary to what I can see on bmw.nl and bmw.de, BMW Belgium seems to be lagging behind (A LOT). Hope that things evolve in 2014.

Posts in Vlaams, Français, German, English welcome (thank you Mr. Google Translate).

Cheers from Mons/Bergen.

"muet"

Hello

I am interested in buying an i3 but I have some more questions re. Connected drive: what is included and what do you have to pay extra for? Is the Range Assistant and Services for Navigation included in the price of the car or do you need to pay extra? The salesperson gave the impression that the extra option for Connected Drive was not needed (I do not need to google someting in my car), but I do want the Range Assistant thing and the info about charging stations along the road. Thanks for the info

Indeed, the standard equipment does include eCall and TeleServices (emergency call, geo-loc for rescue services, etc). It also includes some free BMW i ConnectedDrive services : Eco-route, charging stations, Range Assistant as well as the possibility to control some features through the iRemote app.

The option "ConnectedDrives Services" (6AK @ 301,65 VAT excl) is not needed for the features described above. Nevertheless, it is necessary if you want to add Real Time Traffic (6AM @136,36 VAT excl).
Personally, I did go for the 6AK + 6AM, but they are far from being considered as "must-have's" :)

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the info !

Btw, I saw a white i3 yesterday at Ginion, ready for delivery. Maybe yours?
It looked very good ! Made us decide we also want a white one ...

You should know that there is a kind of controversy here and on the FB group about how to call the white i3 :) :)
Panda edition, Shamu edition, Stormtrooper edition??
If you join us, on the white side of the i3, don't hesitate to state your preference for the future official designation

Looking forward to exchanging with you and other Belgium-based users!

Cheers

agj, what are your first impressions? Happy or unhappy?

I am VERRRY happy with the car!! :D :D ... I am writing a short article for Tom with my first impressions.
A bit less happy with the 360° Electric program for the moment.
Due to a problem with BMW servers in Munich, it is impossible to register my car (and the other Belgian i3's, I suppose) on the ConnectedDrive portal.
The consequence is that I cannot use the iRemote app for the moment. It's a bit frustrating, but I am told that they are working hard on it.

Keep you posted.

Be prepared for a twin sister of Shamu in March... That will

Yessssss!
Congratulations and welcome to the future!!
In no time, we'll be able to create some Belgian i3 Royal Club or something :)

I do wonder how many have been sold in Belgium... Bmw Liege says they sold 20 and Waterloo 40..
If we want to have the Belgian Royal i3 Club, we're gonne be in need of members .. ;)

Though I am extremely happy with the car, the situation around the ConnectedDrive services and Add-On-Mobility is getting on my nerves ...

Today I've been informed that the problem that makes it impossible to register some i3's on the ConnectedDrive Portal has been a known issue for the past ... 2 months!! BMW has been unable to find a solution and doesn't know when the service will be back to normal.
In the meantime, I cannot use the remote services, which means that I cannot use the iRemote app neither.

In addition to that, BMWi Belgium is unable to quote a definitive and official offer for the Add-On-Mobility program. They know "how much" but have no clue as to "what" will be included.

I really feel remorse for complaining because the car is fantastic and as a first buyer one should accept that this kind of hitches come with the package.

But I also feel that BMW is not playing fair with me, and I guess, others.

Let me remind that "remote services" and "iRemote" are considered as "standard equipment" according to BMW commercial literature, and that no availability limitation is attached to them. BMW not delivering on a standard equipment may, and will, be considered as a contractual fault.

Agj - would you consider posting a summary of this fault in the Problems/Troubleshooting section as it will help to inform others and maybe give us a better understanding of how common the problem is?

I have opted for the BMW Serenity Maintenance Contract Formula and was informed that the AddOnMobility (10 days/year) is included standard in this 5 -year contract. You get (for free) a Mini Countryman, a series 1 or a series 3 if you need to drive somewhere further away. Your i3 then needs to remain parked at the BMW-dealership. This is the info they gave me, anyhow.
Regarding the Connected Drive services and the iRemote app, this is indeed problematic as I too was planning on using the Driving Range Assistant and the Navigation assistant etc... and the iRemote App on my telephone.
You pay a premium price for a car with promised advanced features, then you can assume that BMW does their part and provides the necessary infrastructure/software... This is noy very good advertising for them.

This is indeed the last info I received also ... orally. Since the car has been delivered to me, I've been insisting on receiving a written offer. My insistence was based on the fact that, until very recently, the official BMWi Belgium position about Add-On-Mobility (included in the Serenity program) was "10 days in total FOR THE WHOLE PERIOD".
I've been told informally that it will be 10 days/year, which is very good. But I'd rather see that in writing ;)
And for the moment, it seems that it is impossible to issue an official quote with those new figures.
