Out of curiosity, where did you buy yours and how much did you pay? Do you have access to a BMW EOS tester to recommission the HV battery?

In ISTA (BMW's dealership diagnostics system), there is a service function to reset the "starter lock". I have no idea how this applies to the i3, but it may end up unlocking your car so it can be driven again. I have no confirmation to back this up with, and have not tested it.
