We just leased an i3 for 2 years and then went online to get our state rebate of $2500. Turns out that it needs to be a minimum of 30 months for the rebate. We are going to the dealer on Friday to re-write the contract to make it a 30 month lease at an additional $30-$40 per month for the 30 months. At $30 x 30 months, it totals to $900 and since the rebate is $2500, it makes sense to do so. If anyone is considering leasing, please confirm that it is a minimum of 30 months to qualify for the rebate, so you don't have to do the extra work that we are doing. Also double check to see if there is still money in the California electric car rebate pot by calling or emailing them.

There are also PG & E and So Cal Edison rebates. Spend some time Googling and you may find some others! San Joaquin Valley Air District also has a rebate, I'm hoping it's in addition to the California rebate.
