We need the ability to see the actual charging rate of the car. Many public charging stations do not have displays that show the actual rate, or often the screens have become greyed out from the sun. Even on slow J1772 one should be able to get some calculations on how long the car needs to charge, to get home or make the next stop. The App should also be enhanced so one can check on charge progress.

thanks

When you plug in the car, the dashboard displays the approximate time charging will be completed.

A display of current rate won't tell you that because the rate varies during the charge cycle.

In my experience the car is always charged before the time displayed on the dash.

I would like to see a display in the car of the amount of charge taken on (in kwh) for the last charge session. And an actual kw drain during travelling, and a power used (in kwh) for last journey...... oh and kwh regenerated in last journey.

..Unless you have a pre-conditioning schedule enabled, in which case the display shows you the next pre-condition time instead of the charge ETA. A truly baffling decision by BMW considering a schedule by its very definition is something that doesn't vary over time!

The (ending SOC - the starting SOC) x 19 will give you how many kWh you added in the last charge session.

If you display the trip meter, and do a little math you can see the kWh used. The trip meter shows miles and mi/kWh, divide the first by the second and you have the kWh used for the current trip.

Yes, the car could do the calculation for you, but if you want the information, it's one calculation away.
