Try to deal with the charging cable etc. in the funk at night is difficult. The i3 does not have a light in the hood something else the missed!. I found the perfect solution, no wires, no screws mounts with a magnetic strip on the forward facing lip of the hood lid. It senses light so it does not operate during the day, at night it senses you with its PIR and illuminates the whole of the frunk area......... It's a motion sensing light, so presumably there'd be no detectable motion with the frunk closed.

(but I agree, BMW should have put a light in the frunk...and made the frunk big enough to put actual stuff in.
