Improve Base Audio?

Anyone tried to improve the base audio system? It's my own fault for not researching before taking the car and in hindsight would've gotten HK, but I gave too much credit to BMW that the base audio would've been better. Also, on a lease, so I'm not looking to redo the interior. Just hoping someone's found a tweak or two that's made the system a bit more acceptable.

Counter intuitively only advice I have is crank up treble. Usually this results in terrible audio but in my i3 it helps. And don't increase bass.
