mine has stopped at 11/30/16 10:21 PM. I set departure time, and it says "accepted", but doesn't show in the front as a "departure time". I'll see if it works when I leave.... My BMW Connected app is also stuck on 11/30/16 last updated.

Hey all,

Here is the latest from BMW receveid this morning:

Thank you for contacting the BMW i Team regarding your i3.

We are currently experiencing issues our BMW apps and the ConnectedDrive portal on our website with updated vehicle information. We are expecting an update for the app today or later this week that will resolve the issue with the BMW Connected NA App. If you haven’t already, we would recommend switching over to the Connected NA app as this has more updated features, and provides the same function as the i Remote app.

The BMW i Team is available Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Eastern Time and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Eastern Time. You can reach us at 1-855-236-1025.

BMW i. FUELED BY INNOVATION.

Sincerely,
Alex

Me too......... The last update was 11/30, just the same. I re-installed the I Remote App to no avail.

I just installed the BMW Connected NA App and it does not contain all of the same features and functionality as the iRemote app. I can't even get the preconditioning (departure time) to work in this app, I can just activate climate control. Kind of useless with the missing functions and the fact that it still doesn't show current information. I sure hope their fix gets the iRemote app working because the Connected app is lame compared to that. Or maybe their comment about the update means it will contain all of the functions that the iRemote app has? Kind of sucks that this system hasn't been available to customers for over a week now.

I think there is a function to set it, but because the update is broken it won't show once you set it (which is exactly what the i Remote app is doing currently, it quietly succeeds....)

It appears they have fixed the problem. I can see my current information in the iRemote & Connected apps.

I'll post this on both threads covering same issue: I am on an iPhone and using both i Remote and BMW Connected Remote the i3 is not updating data (still stuck on 10/31) but the i8 just updated status to today. So it seems something must be changing with the cars and not the app itself.

I'm glad to have found this thread. I thought it was just me (as I also just got an Apple watch) and though perhaps it was an isolated update issue.

I just got the same response from BMW that others have gotten previously but my data is now updating.

I am a little concerned to read they are phasing the "i" app out---this app is a little nicer than the BMW Connected app---and currently the Connected app doesn't do anything but show trips on the companion Apple watch app whereas the "i" remote can do a host of features including preconditioning, etc.

I have noticed the Connected app does allow for both locking and unlocking whereas my "i" remote app only can lock. Strange.

While I don't have experience with the Apple Watch companion app, I don't understand all of the negative comments on the Connected app in this forum as a whole versus the iRemote app?

The Connected app can absolutely do anything that the iRemote app can do, and much more, I rarely use the iRemote app any longer, what is big draw of this app versus Connected?

How about the most basic i3 stuff, like charge level and time to full charge?

I have an Android phone instead of an iPhone. The Android Connected app does not overlap the of features as the Android iRemote app.

The Android Connected app only displays SOC, Mileage, Range and allows me to add apps to the i3 if connected via USB/Snap-In-Adapter. Other than that, it does nothing else.

So for Android users, at least Canadian Android users, we only have the iRemote app.

"Connected" does charge level but lacks the 'statistics' and 'CO2' summary. I like 'statistics':
  • Consumption (last trip);
    Recuperation (last trip);
    Electric distance driven (last trip), and;
    Electric distance driven (since last charge.)

These can help someone learn how to drive the car efficiently. As for the 'CO2' summary, no interest on my part.

Really? I must be missing something. I'm on iOS. All I see are options for:
Lock/Unlock
Horn/Light
Climate Control Activation
Set Departure timer

And I just recently downloaded Connected (like a month or so ago)

I think that is the current car charge level which appears below and to the left of the car next to the range in miles (like 80 miles/100%)

Here is what I see in 'Connected':
Connected.jpg

The top two sections of the first screen are useful but the scroll down section and the other two screen, useless to me. Loading the navigation is not something I expect from anything other than my inputs in the car.

The other screen are not terribly useful. In contrast, iRemote actually has useful data.

Keep it up and I'll have to put together a compare and contrast between 'Connected' and 'iRemote'. As a general summary, iRemote has a higher ratio of useful information than Connected.

Worse, 'Connected' seems to be selling other Commercially Related Against Purpose (CRAP) which makes 'Connected' look like a commercial instead of a tool. A free price, the message is message is wrong.

Connected also gives only 'Never' or 'Always' as location service options and omits "When in use.' The location service is battery draining. In contrast 'iRemote' only drains battery when in I am using it.
