I have a 2015 Rex, with a backup camera. But it's poor placement, on the bumper face, allows plenty of contact with the world at large. Either standing at the back reaching in, your clothing can rub against it, or other things making contact with the bumper, and subsequently the lens. Most cars have the camera lens set back or in a protective housing.

What are the options? Replace the camera assembly altogether or find a way to polish the lens in a way that does not render the rest of the view, foggy?

If I can repair it, fantastic, then I can make something to shroud it enough to reduce contact but not reduce field of vision.

Any suggestions? Thoughts?

How do I post a photo of my camera view?

I have the same problem with a visible scratch on the lens. After giving it a good clean I have managed to push the camera back into the bumper. Does anyone know how to gain access to the back of the camera so I can refit it
