car not worth the $

Fri Aug 10, 2018 7:47 am

I purchased mine last may/2018 and it sits now at autogermana of guainabo PR
two Saturdays ago I arrive home about 7:pm next day I was ready to go to church;
surprise ("the car is not in park" the N was on green but the wheels wont move)
I waited till Monday and called BMW they gave me a bunch of instructions none
worked ; so they send a tow truck driver to check out... he could not help
so came back 2 days later with a small towtruck in order to get it out from my house
I am getting rid of the car as soon as it gets back.
No wonder they only warrant it for 4 years/50k miles
Hyundai does better....

JUst like anything, especially a complex, computer controlled devices, there will be some small number of infant mortality issues when something fails. Assuming your dealership is competent, I'd wait until they've resolved the issue and then try again. The vast majority of people don't have issues with their car. This forum, and most similar ones, either gets participants that are enthusiasts, or people with a problem, so problems that show up here tend to not be common to all. Yours is not one, at least, that I've heard reported.
