Re: Speed sensor...

I would expect the traction control system to freak out if rear tires have a significantly different circumference than the front tires. A while back when I replaced my rear tires only due to a front tire availability situation, the traction system starting engaging on curves on my commute where it...

Re: Most... expensive... flat... ever!

Forgot to mention in my previous post that I have the 19" wheels on my i3. Never wanted the 20's for reasons you mention. Also thought they'd give a smoother ride.

Re: Most... expensive... flat... ever!

I'm sorry about your tire misfortune. This reminded me of the flat tire saga I had with my 2014 i3 about 3 years ago. I was driving to work in the morning in the left lane, rounding a curve in the freeway, when I saw the mangled ladder laying across the lane I was in. I had nowhere to go and no time...

Re: upgrade charging

I would recommend a Clippercreek product (https://www.clippercreek.com). I've had the HCS-40 in my garage since 2014 and my i3 has over 70,000 miles, most of them charged in my garage. No issues at all with the EVSE. The unit I have definitely has no bells and whistles, it just charges my car when I...

Re: Dash lights strange blinking

I'm interested in what others who are experiencing this with their i3s to find out if there is a fix. This problem has been reported fairly often, unfortunately. A few i3 owners have replaced the LED's on the climate control circuit board (soldering required) which fixed the problem. BMW's fix is t...

Re: Dash lights strange blinking

My 2014 Rex has been doing this for over a year or two. Some of the dash LEDs are off when they should be on and some flicker from time to time. The associated functions do not seem to be affected when this happens. I've learned to ignore it for now, sometimes I can press the associated button which...

Re: Check Engine Light

I've seen the blank display with "No Signal", twice on my 2014 Rex, in fact it happened just yesterday. Both times the system rebooted itself in about 30 seconds while I continued driving. It is interesting as I did have a check engine light which turned on yesterday sometime before the "No Signal" ...

Range reduction in cold weather

In the 4+ years I've had my i3 Rex, I seemed to hear about how good the battery management system is on the i3, yet according to this recent article the i3 was the worst of the 5 tested vehicles which were mostly 2018 models. https://www.powerelectronics.com/automotive/frigid-temperatures-cut-electr...

Re: DIY Oil Change

I have a 2014 Rex with 60000+ miles so my free oil changes are over. I've searched the list and found some postings on DIY oil changing. I don't think it would be very difficult, just would need to get the right oil and filter. The other thing is that my display shows that this was due in June. How ...

Re: Press Release on new Bridgestones for the i3

At around 50,000 miles the rear tires on my '14 Rex were more than ready for replacement. Unfortunately at the time, Costco could not get the fronts as well so I had them just do the rears. The new tires on the rear and the old tires on the front caused the DSC to kick in on curves where it had neve...
