Re: High Beams

I used these in our i3.......work perfectly but you must aim the main beam correctly, from the factory it appears the high beams are aimed VERY LOW presumable because they are so crap with halogen bulbs, these work without any error codes throwing up, and the beam pattern is good, very much better t...

Re: REX maintenance question

Last time my REX turned on to run the maintenance cycle the battery was at roughly 85%.......never before done it over 75%, I wonder if there has been a software update?

Re: Heated seats.

The heated seats are great, good 'n toasty, and particularly fast to warm up. You'll still have a heater in an i3 without a heat pump. All i3s have resistive heaters -- at a bare minimum, that would be required to defrost the windows. BEV models have the option for a heat pump. It's been standard o...

Re: Charging speed for 120h UK i3

Have you set the charge rate in the menus to Maximum, as these are usually set to minimum at the factory (for safety).

Re: real world range for a 2019 i3 rex? electric and gas?

With the new 120......you should get at least 150 miles quite easily, providing your not canning it down the Motorway for all those miles.....

The Rearguards version also come in a Carbon Fibre finish, which matches the i3 very well.

Re: Check Engine Light on 2019 i3s :(

A normal OBD2 reader will cancel the warning light, providing your reader isn’t a very cheap one that only reads! I have only ever had one CEL on our MY17 REX when the exhaust gas sensor went awol, the dealer replaced the sensor and both injectors under warranty, that’s the only fault we have ever h...

Re: Charging time household plug

We use the supplied “brick” a Kopp made one (the good adjustable load one) and have done every night for over three years now, no issues at all, it takes roughly 9-10 hours to charge from almost empty as I recall, although the car is never really near empty so it normally charges to full in just thr...

Re: NON OEM wheels & tires (wider)

Stupid question - Did BMW really use a different hub size on the i3 and Mini? Both appear to be using 5x112 bolt patterns from a quick web search that I did. I assume that they are both hub-centric, so the only reason why they couldn't be crossed over (wheel offsets and rubbing aside) would be that...

Re: NON OEM wheels & tires (wider)

The upcoming Mini Electric is reported to use the complete i3 drivetrain, except it's to be FWD, rather than RWD. It'll be interesting to see if it's wheels will bolt up to the i3 hubs. I suspect that they will if it's the same drivetrain, but offsets may be a problem. Looking forward to what the w...
