Re: Rear-Fog Switch Retrofit (U.S. i3s)

Have you tried asking on (or searching) the BMW i3 Worldwide group on facebook (assuming you are on FB)? It's probably the best resource online for i3's (nothing against this forum, its been great too, just not as much traffic).

Re: Front Turn Signals

Never understood why BMW didn't do that from the factory. I believe BMW plans this out deliberately on their vehicles, especially over the past decade as LEDs started to work their way into the industry. They use incandescent front and rear turn signals, and then change them to LED (along with brak...

Re: Is the original charger waterproof?

My understanding is that it's "water-resistant" but not waterproof.

Re: Beating a dead horse... single vendor TIRES!

Long story short, I bought one set of "Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance" tires, 195/55 R20 (My first choice was Nokian Wetproof but they were out of stock). At the rear, only the sidewall changed to 55 from 50. At the front, only the thread part changed to 195 from 175. Overall diameters increas...

Re: REx 60Ah vs 94Ah vs 120Ah on steep grade

The 94 and 120 have the same power cut at 1% but their 6% buffer is bigger than the 60 so less chance of using more power than the REx can provide. And yes they tinkered with the REx tuning for 2017 and bumped the hp up a little to help with this issue as well. But yes, HSOC solves the problem compl...

Re: i3 LED Headlights

The i3 LED highbeams are very good, but still not as powerful as the bi-xenons my 2010 328 Touring had  . LEDs have come a long way very quickly tho!

Re: i3 LED Headlights

They are only adaptive in the sense that they self-level, they do not move left to right with steering inputs. The new-for-2019 lights add bi-LED lights (with available auto-highbeams) and fixed low-speed LED cornering lights... the cornering lights only work at speeds below maybe 50kmh, and they do...

Re: Rear-Fog Switch Retrofit (U.S. i3s)

I activated them on my E91 many years ago with the switch modification and it made both rear fogs come on. I didn’t have any way to deactivate one of them (probably could have with a coding software) but I figured as long as I used them properly then having two wasn’t an issue. Plus Audi’s and Olds ...
