Re: Questions to ask the dealer

Here in the UK, heat pump is an option on the BEV only. I don't know if the US market has it as standard. The heat pump option is standard on all U.S. BEV's but it is not available on any REx regardless of market. BMW combines seat heating with traction battery heat and the cold weather air flap. I...

Water pipe not hard.
Is this water pipe part of the REx engine cooling system or the motor and motor electronics cooling system? Hopefully, this is a REx problem that won't affect BEV's.

Re: Charge socket solenoid not a warranty item?!?!?

As you state, it's difficult to understand how an i3 driver could damage this solenoid. Maybe someone forced unplugging a locked plug and damaged the lock pin or maybe the solenoid. The dealer really needs to explain the damage and how they determined that the failure is due to driver negligence.

Is there any documentation with the car that would show the EPA range?
The U.S. Department of Energy's fuel economy Website lists the EPA range at 114 miles. This seems to be quite conservative based on the ranges reported by 2017 BEV drivers.

Re: New Owner Charging Questions

I just downloaded the i3 manual, to get familiar with the car before I make the trip to bring it home. It talks about having to have an electrician check the electrical outlet before I use it and then I have to manually set the charging rate on the iDrive system in the car depending on the "current...

Re: Question on coolant, TPMS

Changing transmission oil seems like a pretty complex process which makes me wonder if it's lifetime. Is the coolant lifetime as well? From the Owner's Manual : "Sensors and special algorithms take into account the driving conditions of your vehicle. Based on this, Condition Based Service recognize...

Re: Charging time 2016 60AH

The ChargePoint stations usually indicate about 5.8XX KW when I charge from them . Is 5.8XX one of the charge levels that our i3 will utilize ? With this thought in mind I might try the different settings in the charge level menu and see which power values show on a ChargePoint Station . There aren...

Re: Custom License Plate - Wife Very Angry - Need Advice

I find it a bit disingenuous that your customized plate is on a car with a gasoline-powered generator even though it uses less gasoline than most ICE cars when the REx isn't running.

Re: 'Climatising' triggers car alarm - normal?

My insurance is with RAC and an engineer just installed a blackbox (compulsory for this insurance). Wondering jf he could have done something under the hood to cause this as it had not happened until he installed the blackbox. 😐 Bingo! An i3 views a device connected to the OBD port under the dashbo...

Not sure, if there is a way to do a phone verification....where code is sent to cell phone#.
I'm not going to add my cell phone number to another site. I get too many spam phone calls as it is.
