Yep, battery pack warranty goes with the vehicle, not with the owner, so it transfers to all owners.

Many have said that doing so is impossible because each fob is associated with a specific VIN. Maybe someone with write-permissions to a BMW server somewhere could change this association, but apparently BMW dealers cannot.
