Re: Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

If I'm going to have to go out of pocket without BMW's help to get this to continue working I'd be looking towards 5G telematics like BMW and Samsung announced during CES 2020 and skipping LTE entirely. Don't care to have to deal with this every 5 years.

Re: Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

Received this email a couple days ago. Looking like BMW won't be offering any sort of upgrade option for us 3G telematics owners. My ConnectedDrive & RTTI is paid till 11/2021, so I get 3 months free. YAY /s Important changes to the ConnectedDrive Services offering on your vehicle. UPCOMING 3G CELLU...

Re: Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

I just renewed Real Time Traffic Information and ConnectedDrive Services at the end of November so they're happy to take my money. I can still use the app as of today, RTTI was working as of Saturday.

Rear seat removal

Had a big water spill in the back of my i3 that left stains on the Giga world wool fabric of the rear seats. Does anyone know how to remove the rear seats so it can be shampooed and dry properly, without losing use of the car? Thanks.

March update SoC display

To those who have received the March update, could you post pics of what the SoC display looks like? I've brought my BEV in to the dealership twice during April for minor things yet have not noticed the SoC display anywhere. The advisor kept telling me I'm up to date. I'd really like to get that ver...

Replace AUX-in/USB module

Looks like I managed to break one of the pins in the USB port in the center console. Found the replacement part easily enough as it seems to be a common part. Problem is, I have no idea how to remove the module. Talking to the dealership reveals the need for hours of labor to take apart the center c...

Re: Bigger EVSE than needed (HCS-60), or just right (HCS-40)

Installed our EVSE at the same time we upgraded our panel. Went with the HCS-60. I figure buy extra capacity now rather than buying another EVSE later for the next EV. Three months of use and happy with it. Now if only BMW would fix the repetitive charge and stop while preconditioning...

Re: Recommendations for donut spare tire?

I saw jadnashuanh's post about his spare tire solution (thanks for the link for the jack kit). I suppose the tires is already narrow enough to make a donut too close in size to bother producing. So say I buy an extra front tire, would there be a generic wheel available so I do not have to spend arou...

Recommendations for donut spare tire?

Finally took delivery of my i3 yesterday. I'm looking to get a donut spare tire to put in the car. Since one is not made specifically for the i3 can the more experienced drivers out there recommend one? Maybe one made for one of the other BWM models? Thanks in advance!

Re: New I3s Are Being Held at The Ports

Mine arrived in San Diego or Long Beach on Nov 6th and has been there since as well. Called my guy today, they got a hold of the port and was told it is on hold for KLE replacement campaign. I thought the car would've been built with the new version KLEs since it finished production at the end of Se...
