iCar II failed

Hi,

Bought in 2016, it would not bluetooth beacon and connect today. So I've order a replacement from Amazon:

Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) OBD2

Any problems with this unit?

Re: Very loud REX - any solutions?

We had a loud REx traced to the catalytic coming loose. Simple clamp fix.

Torklift light installation experience?

Hi, I've ordered a Torklift, trailer light kit that should be here Friday. Anyone have photos or YouTube showing installation? One concern is they want a permanent 12 V source versus a switched 12 V. I was planning to tap the 12 V outlet in the center console. Turns out the 'Imgur' setup just used a...

Re: Anyone else having issues with BMW connect App not working?

I find "My BMW" app is unreliable. Sometimes it works but about half the time, it fails for either unlock or preconditioning. So I'm wondering, can a button on the key fob be reprogrammed to enable conditioning? Since the key fob is independent of servers and cell networks, it should commu...

parking lights remain on

Hi,

Last night we found the parking lights are remaining on. The Owern's Manual PDF is not terribly helpful. Any best practices to make sure the parking lights are off?

BTW, this explains excessive battery SOC loss when the car is parked.

Thanks,

Re: Connected Services Ending - Offical

Speculation, could Bimmerlink extract the data from the OBD into a computer to send via WiFi or other, non-BMW provided communications and display?

Anyone try rust-free rotor treatments?

Hi,

Rotor rust never bothered me but it was a new sound for my girlfriend. Still, it would be nice to get rid of it permanently. Has anyone tried the various aftermarket rotor treatments?

Re: Parasitic battery charge loss from cold temperatures?

I've tracked a decent amount of data on my car in the 2+ years I've had it and it definitely seems like battery capacity declines faster in the cold (thread here: https://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=17163 ). That's looking at capacity though... I haven't looked into state of char...

Parasitic battery charge loss from cold temperatures?

Has anyone tried to map the battery Ahr loss vs temperature? We've had exceptionally low temperatures in Dixie, 15F (-10C) and noticed the battery SOC % has significantly gone down overnight. We have a new driver and one hypothesis is failure to turn car off with a second power button press. However...
