Re: i3 Weight

My 2020 i3s was ordered with the heat pump option and has a non-sunroof CFRP roof panel.

Re: How to deactivate acoustic pedestrian protection?

With BimmerCode, in Headunit, expert mode, category EXBOX, is VSG_HMI_MENUE, set to aktiv, and the sound can be turned off in iDrive. Unfortunately this has to reset every time the car is started. I was able to set a shortcut button to simplify at startup. I'm still trying to work with BimmerCode fo...

Re: How to deactivate acoustic pedestrian protection?

MKH, do you know the specific item(s) that need to be coded? Or if there's a cheat sheet for all the code options? I have BimmerCode paid, and an OBDLink LX. There's a generic setting but it doesn't seem to do anything. I looked in Expert mode and am reluctant to code anything without knowing exactl...

Re: How to deactivate acoustic pedestrian protection?

Hmmm, not sure where I asked for a legal opinion... Yes, I reviewed other threads but didn't see an answer for disabling the noisemaker. It really is quite loud in the car, yes, with the windows up. As soon as the car is in 'gear' it starts a tone. As soon as you slow below ~25mph the tone starts. I...

How to deactivate acoustic pedestrian protection?

Replaced our 2017 i3 BEV with a 2020 i3s BEV. The 2020 fixes all the things that bugged me in the 2017. Unfortunately it added one new item that is super annoying, the noisemaker at low speeds. Is there a way to deactivate the acoustic pedestrian protection noisemaker? Thinking maybe unplugging some...

Re: Thinking of selling....

I see you have a very early i3 (2014), have you considered trading for a newer model? There have been many updates over time and I'm certain BMW has learned as they've updated the batteries and systems. 2017+ has ~120 mile range and anecdotally (I don't have proof) has fewer battery degradation issu...

2021 i3 production start?

With BMW factories open and producing again it feels like the model year change over is imminent (typically July-August-ish). Has anyone heard 2021 model or production information?

Re: 80m commute no charger at work; REX or no REX?

80 miles round trip with a 2017+ 94ah BEV will be fine. Back when we could go to workplace, I commuted 50 miles round trip a day and charged every other day. Easy to get ~120 miles per charge. Even in ~25F winter you can get well over 100 miles per charge.

Re: I’ve ordered it

I also ordered a 2020 i3s, considered the Tesla 3, and owned a couple Lotus (Exige n/a and s240). Current daily driver is a 2017 i3. The i3 is a unique car; small, relatively light, rear wheel drive, with a very nice interior, and excellent build quality. It's inexpensive to run, and still fun to dr...
