Re: Turning off BMW i3 charging as conflicting with OHME charger timings

Hello NeilC, welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting your new i3! Apologies if you've had other EVs before and are aware of the following, but just to add on a bit here: The box that sits on your wall and delivers 120V / 240V to the car is technically referred to as an EVSE (Electric Veh...

Re: Steering seems loose

This is a really interesting topic because steering feel and performance are high on my list when considering a car purchase. My first i3 was a new 2014 i3 BEV which I drove until upgrading to a 2021 i3s BEV. From my first test drive of the 2014 I was immediately impressed by the steering. Granted, ...

Re: Retrofit a BMW i3 Pedestrian Sound Module (ASG)

Hello dbrimley, and welcome to the forum! Have you had a chance to experience driving an i3 WITH the Pedestrian Sound Module? If not, I'd recommend seeing if you can find an i3s that has the option so you can determine if you are ok with it. My first i3 was a 2014 (which had no external sound module...

Re: Coding Anti-Dazzle and Variable Light Distribution

I've read descriptions of adaptive headlights not being adaptive in brighter conditions and at slower speeds. That's certainly true of mine - if I drive into an area with streetlights then the main beams automatically turn off - and then turn back on again automatically when the ambient light level...

Re: Coding Anti-Dazzle and Variable Light Distribution

The computer scientist in me concludes that VO (Vehicle Order) coding is top-level coding that could change the values of multiple coding parameters in multiple modules, something that BimmerCode cannot do. alohart – I love your post and the thought process behind it! Might the reason you're not se...

Hello johnnylingo –

The video you linked didn't play for me.

If you want to try opening the charge port cover, try pressing it and holding for a second or two.

Re: Tesla Allowing CCS Charging at Superchargers!

3pete – My EV experience started in 2014 with an i3 BEV. It came with high-voltage DC fast charging (DCFC) at 50kW. In 2021 I upgraded by trading the 2014 BEV for a 2021 i3s BEV. Seven years newer and it still can only DC fast charge at 50kW. I don't drive many miles so the ability to fast-charge is...

Re: Welcome to the BMW i3 Forum

Hello i3 world, I just picked up an 2014 Mega world REX with 125k miles. Battery kapa.max is showing 16.5 so I think the car will be in good shape for a while. Other cars are Chevy Bolt and Volt. I am fully addicted to EVs and could not pass up a sweet deal. Using this as an extra car/teens starter...
