Re: PDC sensors, front fender

spartacus68 – Apologies for the delay in replying to you! From looking at your pictures a second time, it's very easy to see that the mounting plate uses a four-point attachment to hold the PDC sensor. The problem I had was that the combined sensor & mounting plate assembly fell behind the front fen...

A friendly note...

Your original post, as written, is nearly impossible to read as it lacks punctuation and formatting.

I think, with a better-written post, you might find your question receiving more replies.

Re: Importing EU i3 to US

So I'm thinking instead of spending a few thousand dollars on a crappy used car here, maybe it would make as much or more sense to spend the money on shipping the i3 here instead. I've been looking into how that might work, but I just cannot see my way through all the DOT and EPA and CBP rules arou...

One thing I found about the PDC sensors is that they're held in by double-sided tape.

Re: PDC sensors, front fender

spartacus68 – Very interesting that you found your sensors to be held in by brackets. I have yet to take another pass at sorting my loose front passenger-side (fender) PDC sensor. In November of 2020 I purchased, for US$10, Munro & Associates' teardown of the i3. It's still available here and is wor...

Re: Mapping for road trips

Hello Spamouflage – I'm a BEV owner on the USA's toasty West Coast so my experience is non-REx in a much warmer climate... I've never used ABRP, but I have six+ years of experience using PlugShare and recommend it highly. The community there keeps EVSE locations pretty up to date in terms of service...

Re: PDC sensors, front fender

spartacus68 –

Thanks for the suggestion of removing the underbody panel and the details about how the sensors are mounted in the X5.

Once I get mine sorted I'll share findings here.

Re: Intermittent non-charging issue

fbt12 – Any chance you have a Dostar J1772 plug handle (the part that gets inserted into the i3's charging port)? I charge with an OpenEVSE which has a Dostar handle. If you drop the handle it on a hard surface (which I've done by accident) the handle's release lever pivot pin can get bent which (fo...

Re: My first 24 hours with a 2020 i3s REX

Oh, two more thoughts to share... The pedestrian awareness buzz coming out of the car was super cool at first. New soundscape for the future urban setting. Now, I wish it wasn’t a thing. The cabin would be so quiet without it. Use Bimmercode.app to turn this off: https://bimmercode.app I must get th...
