Re: "low cost charging" option grayed out...?

Hello 808Pants – I've been driving i3 BEVs since 2014 and live in a US state with expensive electricity that's now billed by time-of-use. I didn't care for the behavior of BMW's "Departure Time"-based charge settings and subsequently switched to an EVSE with clock-based charging times and ...

Re: Goodbye i3 Community - At Least For Now

Fisher99 –

Very sorry to hear about your 2014 REx meeting its end and thank you for your posts over the years – you've been one of the long-time participants.

If you get back into a replacement i3 it would be great to see you return to posting here.

Re: Left door rear view mirror turn signal indicator

Hello marvintherepairman! Having had to fix mirror problems (admittedly not yours), a few things that I've found out over the years... There is only one amber LED in the mirror and it's located as far inboard as possible. It's attached to the clear plastic strip that wraps around the mirror housing ...

Re: White insulation behind door panel?

Just adding on here to say, "thanks" Egbert, for the Bavsound feedback. They used to advertise heavily in BMW-targeted sites and publications and I've wondered how one of their upgrades would sound. I like a balanced presentation and from reading your post it seems like the Bav drivers mig...

Re: White insulation behind door panel?

I haven't taken off my door panels so I don't have first-hand experience with the material, but two thoughts... If it's thin and light it's likely a moisture barrier like Tyvek: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyvek If it's thicker and sticky on its back side it's likely a sound isolation product. Tho...

Re: Just purchased our 2nd i3:

Hello Geodude! Got my first BEV new in 2014 and drove it for seven fun years. Once BMW gave notice that they were killing it in North America for the 2022 model year I traded the 2014 in for a shiny new 2021 BEV s. They are amazing little machines! Given BMW's pivot to common-platform ICEs/EVs I fee...

Re: BMW i3 – One of the Most Underrated Cars

carsalesbase.com says USA buyers purchased 44.7K i3s from 2014 to 2022:

In my opinion, any i3 that is still on the road in 2045 will be considered a classic.

Not laughing at your dealer woes, REvans2001, am just enjoying your nicely worded re-telling of the experience!

Re: Rotten Eggs smells and a hot 12-volt battery

Hello botzata and welcome to the forum! Thank you very much for signing up here to post such a thorough account of your 12V battery issue. I've been here a while and yours is only the second time I've seen this issue (thanks alohart for directing everyone to this thread). I would be completely freak...
