Re: BMW i3 Trunk Trim Panel Question

Hello Rory1980 and welcome to the forum!

Looking at the pics on your link, my guess is that they look like ventilation cutouts, maybe to dissipate heat from the 12V socket when it's under load?

I'm not near the car at the moment but wonder if the same cutouts are on the opposite side of the trunk...

Re: BMW i3 – One of the Most Underrated Cars

I love these flowery obituaries as the i3 seemed to be more often kicked by auto journalists and EV enthusiasts for every imaginable reason. ... I definitely think it lasted longer and sold more units than BMW originally imagined. I think we have reached the Final Final Final... https://www.motor1....

Re: 2018 i3s iDrive Questions?

Any advice here on how to import contacts or get voice commands to work for calling people without having to mess about with my phone. Hello Ewest and welcome to the forum! Your profile doesn't say where you're located. Knowing your general location and language would be helpful to troubleshoot iss...

Re: Sequential LED trunk light strip on a '14 REx

MattyGigawatts – I'm with you on wanting to customize your ride but lighting isn't the place to do that. I've been driving i3s for eight years so I know how the rear lighting works. Were I to be following your car with its non-standard lighting, I'd be confused by the modifications you have made. Th...

Re: Can not select “park”

Hello Marky421 and welcome to the forum! I agree with your decision to replace the AUX 12V battery and register it. That your problem continues suggests that the replacement AUX 12V battery may not have been fully charged when you installed it. Can you remove it from the car and use an external char...

Re: BMW i3 was ahead of its time AGAIN!

Thanks for sharing your driving impressions of the i4, websterize, I'm hoping to get my own test drive before too much longer. As an i3 owner, the thought of setting a beastly 4,500+ lbs. (2,200+ kg) i4 loose on the road just feels wrong. Plus I don't like the concept of synthesized sound for EVs. Y...

Re: BMW i3 was ahead of its time AGAIN!

Had a ride as a passenger in an i4 M50 (dual-motor AWD) last weekend and I was impressed. I'm not a sedan guy, but the seating position and your relationship to the displays is much more intimate than in the iX.

I think BMW will sell every one (of both cars) they can build.

Re: power window relearn or reprogram steps

Just adding on that a non-coded i3 (US) will not allow one-touch window raising when that door is open.

Older BMWs would allow a one-touch window raise and (thankfully) it's possible to restore this function to your i3 via coding, even with such a simple solution as Bimmercode.

Re: No sound from parking sensors

A follow-up question – if you put your i3 in reverse and get close to an object / barrier behind, do you get a PDC audible / visual warning?

Re: 2015 BEV - Weird Malfunction - Brake & Charging Warnings

Might your your one-year old 12V AUX have been less than fully charged at the time of installation (this is common occurrence)? My thought is that if you installed a partially-charged new 12V AUX battery and didn't drive very many miles since 2021, your AUX battery may be in a state of discharge des...
