Re: ConnectedDrive

I tried using the climatize function this morning and it worked. I used the Android version of the app which, btw, I had to sideload because it's not supposed to be available for us in Canada.

Re: Canada

Ok. I had to use an apk mirror to get the NA version of BMW Connected installed. It looks like it's working - it pulled the data from my last trip.

Thanks!

I tried to get that using Google Play on my android phone but I got an error message saying "This item is not available in your country." - Google Play won't let me download/install it.

Re: Canada

Anyone having problems with the BMW iRemote app for Android (Canada)? It stopped working for me last March 26. I tried reinstalling the app and now, I can't log in on the app. I logged in to the BMW Canada ConnectedDrive website to confirm that my profile is set up and my car registered. Even did a ...

Re: Do the ECO Modes really extend the range?

I reset the km/kwhr to compare the values (also reset the other Onboard Info values at the same time). So I found out that yes, my stats improved. I used to do 19.7kw/100km on average. Using EcoPro learned habits, I now do 15.5 on average at Comfort mode. Of course now, the total electric distance d...

Re: Do the ECO Modes really extend the range?

I agree. The first few months, I enjoyed Comfort mode. Then winter came along and I happened upon the advice to use EcoPro to tame the acceleration a bit. I figured that I should be able to do that myself in Comfort mode. But I still used EcoPro mainly for the Driving Style Analysis tool which gives...

Re: Well that was fun

But I was also surprised that the REx would continue to run when stopped. When I got home, the SOC was 75%. Bob Wilson By this, do you mean when stopped at traffic lights? Most of the instances when I had to use the REx were on long drives on the highway. So yes, it does charge the car up to 75%, w...

Re: questions about used i3 I just purchased

Maybe the factory settings on my Canada 2017 REx are different... Are you referring to the Navigation warning message? With mine, it goes away after about 3 seconds or so, when I don't dismiss it. Which is why I didn't find the need to code to get rid of it.

Re: Parking assist comes on automatically?

Go to Settings/Parking and disable AutoPDC. When on, it triggers Park Assist when you slow down to a threshold. The sensors are always on. But you have the option to turn on the parking software automatically, when you slow down, or manually using the center console button. Found this out when the s...

Re: Low mileage REX issues?

Alcohol... Regular gasoline has 5% alcohol except for the predominantly cold climate provinces. Premium is sure to have no alcohol. Thanks for the advice. Short of running dry, I'll use up the rest of the gasoline in my REx and fill up to 1/4 tank only so that the maintenance cycles have something t...
