Re: Engine check light

Latest and hopefully final update. Car back from main dealer. In the end they replaced the fuel pump relay. They said there was pitting on the relay and suspected the pump was faulty and drawing too much current. I even said to check the relay followingvthe forum's advice as mentioned that their I3 ...

Re: Scratched Hood...

Your husband sounds like a total delight Angela. Accidents happen. If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail then its a deep scratch, will require filling and then polishing. You can achieve some pretty impressive results with a cutting compound such as Menzera 203S which is a light t...

Re: Engine check light

Update to the update. Car back tonight, so NOx sensor fitted by the independent garage has been removed and a genuine BMW part fitted (I was assuming the part fitted already was genuine) and it's still not fixed. Sitting at over £1k in repairs so far. Going to speak to the main dealer tomorrow for a...

Re: Engine check light

So off to main BMW dealer who inform me it's the fuel pump. I've read a number of links regards the fuel pump sensor and I was tempted to try the fix, but given it's at the main dealer, simply removing the car to try the fix it will delay things, and the software scan it's had already would be char...

Re: Engine check light

Update on this and the current saga. So the car went to my local mechanic who had it for over two weeks waiting for a part - and he changed a Lambda O2 sensor, but problem still persisted. I'm still awaiting that invoice. So off to main BMW dealer who inform me it's the fuel pump. I've read a number...

Engine check light

My wife has been running her 2015 REx for about 4 years now. In that time it's had the front suspension dust covers renewed, and the fuel pressure sensor done under warranty. I've serviced it a couple of times including filter changes and oil change. This week she had to use the hold charge facility...

Re: Brake fluid replacement

The brakefluid change is straight forward and I do it every 2 years starting with the wheel furthest from the brake reservoir. My wife's 15-plate i3 REx is outside warranty now so I do the maintenance, including the oil and filter changes, and as they say prevention is the name if the game given BMW...

Re: Fed up with my 94ah REX - 6 weeks!!

Diesels have had their day. If you think the depreciation on a i3 REx is bad, buy a new Euro 6 compliant car and watch its residual value plummet. You can't compare the i3 to other cars you've had. In some ways it's a compromise. It will never have the handling of a turbo diesel. I used to run an A4...

Re: Poor REX Mpg on motorway

You're expecting way too much from your i3 REx. It's not a hybrid in the tradional sense. It's electric with a back up petrol engine, rather than petrol with kick in electric. Ideally you want to find a charging point, or preset the car so you maintain a reserve of electric charge.
