Re: 20 inch wheels refurb in gloss black

If you're doing this, then just get them powder coated. No point mucking about with Plastidip. Wheels are subject to a lot of abuse, heat, water, and corrosive elements, such as road salt, brake dust and detergents.

Re: PDC sensors, front fender

Ignore my advice frictioncircle, the i3 PDC sensors are nothing like the X5 in terms of rotate to fit. I had to fit a second hand sensor tonight to clear a parking PDC issue I've had for some time. Jack up the car, pop off the front wheel, put an axle stand under the subframe chassis just in case. R...

Re: Help reading Bimmerlink error codes

This is the fresh air recirculating sensor. It's linked to your A/C. If the sensor detects pollutants then it will switch to recirculating air. It's located under the bonnet/frunk. It's an easy fix if your mechanically minded. I changed mine last year. Probably no need to isolate power for this, but...

Re: Not charging properly

This sounds very much like the same issue I had. If you're in Europe then the charging lock solenoid fails to engage properly sending a message that it can't charge, LED light surround flashes red, etc. In the US the locking mechanism is slightly different. More details here: https://www.mybmwi3.com...

Re: Code P0440

Check out https://www.hubauer-shop.de Now you'll need last 7 digits of VIN, but very detailed site, shows part location and prices. Chances are you'll order direct from main dealer but these are genuine parts so see how Hubauer prices compare, depends on shipping and taxes. For the activated charcoa...

Re: PDC sensors, front fender

I'm currently fixing a similar issue, but not with the sensor falling out, but with a broken sensor, as in no signal. Hubauer Shop (Germany) is very good for diagrams. For the front, apparently there's backing plates on the front bumper/fender. Part number: 51117414362. You need last 7 digits of you...

Re: Picking up my 2020 i3S REX today

I cycled across Canada back in the mid 90s with my brother and remember Saskatchewan well. Mind you it was early summer, but cross winds and trucks coming too close were all we had to contend with. :D Back to your i3. Consider some sort of insulation or cover for the charger if the car will be outsi...

Re: PDC error

Just an update. Finally got hold of dealer diagnostics, ISTA+. I read through the codes regards PMA front outer right module park distance control. Now for all I know this could be historical and not recurring. I cleared all the codes and so far, nothing has come back. With the i3 - once the code is...

I need to get some sort of scanning device as I'm whistling in the wind otherwise and using the collective expertise of owners on here.
BimmerLink
Thanks alohart. Have opted for ISTA-D software instead. Will keep you posted.

Re: PDC error

I still haven't resolved this fault between work and taking a week or so annual leave away from the computer. Welcome to lock-down 2021. So tonight my wife said there's a new error - seat-belt restraint and airbag. Honestly - what is it with this car? So it got me thinking, say these are false error...
