Re: BEV E-Motor transmission/differential Oil - change?

Just found this. A little narration wouldn't have gone amiss! :D

With the drive shaft out, just wondering if there's any eccentric bolts for toe in or out adjustment?

Re: Car unstable, jerking left and right, swerves

I think this is starting to make sense. SO my wife said before this happen that day, she was driving and heard a loud pop. She thought maybe she ran over a nail and it hit the tire. When she got home, the tires looked fine and the tire pressure was normal. Then she used the car again and that's whe...

Re: PMA error code

I've tested the sensors frictioncircle. You can sit in the passenger seat, put the seat-belt on the driver's side and engage drive by pressing the brake, then hop out and test. With a wet finger, don't ask me why, you can feel the pulses coming through the sensors. All the PDC and PMA sensors seem t...

Re: PMA error code

Thanks frictioncircle - they are definitely there. I've replaced a sensor before so the mounting brackets are pretty sturdy. These things are subject to water ingress I suppose and they just fail. I'm thinking they are the PDC (front outside right) sensors as it communicates with the PMA module. I'm...

PMA error code

It seems I spend my life chasing error codes on this car. Park Distance Control error, highlighted in cabin. When I dealt with this before it was down to one of the front parking sensors. I've scanned the car with ISTA D and the following errors came back. https://ibb.co/Mgr2cfN It does say Ultrason...

Re: Metallic rattle sound from passenger side over deep bumps

Sure it's not suspension related? So there's a couple of bits on the car if you're mechanically minded. One is the ARB link (anti-roll-bar). The bushes wear and you'll get a definite clunk as it's meant to keep the ARB under tension. The other is the coil spring itself. Not unusual for the springs t...

Re: Drive unit noise - My15 Rex 54k

Certainly worth an email - to see if they recognise the codes? ;) Email: p@remmington.plus.com The EME from new will be horrendously expensive. https://www.hubauer-shop.de/en/carparts/i-models-parts-catalog/i3-meg/1z41-i01-ib1/i3-60ah-rexa-mega-city-vehicle-engine-electrical-system-141-/141-121842-e...

Re: Yellow PARK light, ABS, brake system error

The fault lies with the tow company. This is no different to hauling an Audi Quattro as you'll overwind the rear diff. On the i3 there's a danger that the drive wheels engage the high voltage circuit. At the very least it will need to be scanned to see the exact errors being thrown up. Recovery comp...

How was the car towed? Please don't say a dolly?

Re: BMW i3 drivetrain stop carefully

You need to get yourself a copy of ISTA+ software, effectively dealer level diagnostics. Not unusual for these cars to have corrosion in high voltage cables, especially at connection ends. Also the EME (electric motor electronics). https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2019-bmw-i3-i8-recall-eme-module/...
