Re: Sport Wheels on a 2017 REx

Mercedes-fitment are the ones to shop for. 5x112 PCD, 66.5CB, and find the lowest offset possible. ET40 on a 7.5J x 19" rim needs a 24mm spacer with 215 tyres to clear the front spring by 4mm (same if you're fitting i8 wheels). ET 32 offset will work with 15mm spacers. You'll need arch extensions, t...

Re: Reupholstering seats

kc1 I'll have two front seats in pale grey cloth for sale soon. They're from a 4.5k-miles i3 and are in perfect condition. I'm swapping-in two carbon bucket seats.

Re: rapid charge retrofit?

Thanks for keeping the thread alive. I've been checking the RealOEM site and looking at some (non BMW) D.i.y. EV conversions, the cabling does seem to go direct to the battery from the socket. The car's sensors still monitor the LoC and communicate it back to the EVSE. I have another i3, with a dual...

Re: ISTA-D for BMW I3

chipping in with a question... I’m attempting to recalibrate the steering angle sensor because it’s sending wrong info to the yaw sensor and DCS module. My car has 7x18” wheels and is 20mm lowered. The car handles better than the DCS can predict when it should be crashing because it can achieve high...

Re: How to replace a wing mirror

thanks alohart, that link is very useful. I did try replying same day you posted it, but now I’v revisited this thread, I notice mt reply didn’t ‘save’. My ‘project’ is to remove the large, unaerodynamic mirrors and replace with small cameras held in custom pods (motorcycle indicators). I’ve already...

Re: How to replace a wing mirror

hi, did you find out how to remove the side mirrors?
I’m looking for info on whether they can be replaced by cameras.

Need to remove a mirror to trace the wires and see what can be blanked off to keep the mod looking ‘factory’.

Thanks

Re: i3 s Traction Control adds torque

A few weeks late to this thread, but my wide-tyred i3 BeV has cured the unintended drifting ( oversteer ) on fast, tight corners. i3s will wheel-spin with and without DSC on, but not in a straight line on a dry road. I’ve fitted 7.5J 18” rims for better grip, tyres are 215 45 18 with B rating for gr...

Re: Rear wiper delete

Ironically my i3 does have a water ingress problem, in the carbon side sills.
The tailgate has no leaks, the vinyl cover is about twice the diameter of the hole, it’s a water-tight seal.

If water did get under the vinyl it would dissolve the adhesive and it’ll fall off but it’s remaining well-stuck.
