Re: Range Estimate

I find that while using the navigation you get pretty good range estimation and it tends to fudge on the side of caution, and gets more accurate the closer you are to your destination. Doesn't a 2016 i3 have a 60ah battery, by the way?

Re: J adaptors to Tesla chargers

I bought a Tesla Tap. Nicely made. I tried it out at a Tesla Destination Charger and it worked great. You have to put the adaptor on the Tesla plug and wait for it to be recognized before plugging it into your car. I also carry a 24amp Clipper Creek EVSE with a NEMA 14-50 plug for camp sites. Nice t...

Re: Next maps update?

Well, silly me. It turns out I was not pushing hard enough on the left arrow of the center control button to access the menu choices on the left side of the screen. Working well now, but I did notice there is still a gas station listed near me that has been defunct for years. Also cannot get the map...

Re: Next maps update?

Thanks Art, I have gone through all the menu choices (as far as I can determine) and zoomed in and out and can find no options for the map appearance. As I mentioned mine looks different than the pictures I see posted. Bland muted colors and no details beyond streets... can't be right.

Next maps update?

Hi all, I ordered the updated nextmaps on ebay and purchased a lifetime code. It arrived on a memory stick, and I was able to install it. My menu tells me I have the latest maps installed now. It looks exactly the same as before... which is to say nearly colorless and without nearby charging station...

Re: BMW Connected Feature

It is completely unnecessary to second guess the engineers who designed the car by stopping charging below 100%. With the built in battery management software, upper and lower limits on the batteries are designed in. It is like only filling a gas guzzler up part way. The software does not allow a tr...

Re: HELP! iPhone lost between Dashboard and Windshield

Maybe try using some needle nose pliers with tape wrapping the jaws to protect the surface of your phone? They make little grabber devices as well. Not sure what they are called.

Re: Rex Problem!

If you do not have Hold State Of Charge enabled, it will not come on until your battery is at about 7%.. at least on my 2015. Perhaps the battery percentage it automatically comes on at is lower on the larger battery 2017? You should code HSOC and go from there. Miles remaining on the Guess-O-Meter ...

Re: Where is the charge flap release on my 2014 I3?

In the right side rear door opening, bottom rear corner, there is a black foam cover with two small logos showing the charge flap door release and the charge cord lock release pulls. Pull that off and they are underneath.
