Re: Very loud REX - any solutions?

"During my test drive at this deal, the battery was about 2%." This is beyond ridiculous. No person in their right mind would try to sell an EV that was not charged up and ready to go. This is like looking at a gas guzzler for sale with an empty fuel tank and a gallon of gas in a can in the trunk. T...

Re: Very loud REX - any solutions?

Also, that dealer must not want to sell the car if they don't keep it fully charged while on the lot.... either that, or they are just ignorant about EVs.

Re: Very loud REX - any solutions?

Your REX should not come on automatically unless you are below about 8% battery, or it needs to run a maintenance cycle from not being used for about two months or so. In any event, they are NOT very noisy when sitting unless it has been run very hard for a while and then you stop.... whereupon it w...

Re: Charging i3 on a Tesla 150kW

Art, I believe the destination chargers offer 11kw or so... of course our i3s are limited to 7.7kw on level 2.

The battery capacity icon is selected by going through the menu when you push the button on the end of the turn signal stalk.

Re: Range Estimate

I find that while using the navigation you get pretty good range estimation and it tends to fudge on the side of caution, and gets more accurate the closer you are to your destination. Doesn't a 2016 i3 have a 60ah battery, by the way?

Re: J adaptors to Tesla chargers

I bought a Tesla Tap. Nicely made. I tried it out at a Tesla Destination Charger and it worked great. You have to put the adaptor on the Tesla plug and wait for it to be recognized before plugging it into your car. I also carry a 24amp Clipper Creek EVSE with a NEMA 14-50 plug for camp sites. Nice t...

Re: Next maps update?

Well, silly me. It turns out I was not pushing hard enough on the left arrow of the center control button to access the menu choices on the left side of the screen. Working well now, but I did notice there is still a gas station listed near me that has been defunct for years. Also cannot get the map...

Re: Next maps update?

Thanks Art, I have gone through all the menu choices (as far as I can determine) and zoomed in and out and can find no options for the map appearance. As I mentioned mine looks different than the pictures I see posted. Bland muted colors and no details beyond streets... can't be right.
