Re: charging port door grinding sound when opened

You can swap the lock yourself if you have the time:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziVu9-v69eE

Will probably save 5000.- bucks in labour by BMW garage :-) :-) :-)

The video shows how to replace both actuators - the one for the door and also the locking actuator for the charging connector.

Re: 2017 i3 - voice command not working

Your voice command may not be enabled. Depending on the country you live in, and the Navigationsystem you have, it may or may not be in your configuration. I believe in Germany you had to have the "Comfort package" and or the "enhanced bluetooth" in your config for the voice commands to work. Where ...

Re: Voice Commands & Battery Readings

If you press the "voice" button on the stearing wheel just very shortly (and release), than you can do voice input to the Navigation System (and many other things - like saying "phone book" or "Map 10 miles" or .... If you press the button longer (i think its more than a second) before you release i...

Re: Tire repair kit in frunk - replacement BMW "Fix a Flat" goo

You are getting raped by the BMW stealership! The original BMW set with pump and goo is around 90.- USD here in Europe. If you just buy the goo bottle it is around 30.- USD Here is a link for the full kit in the US: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/bmw-m-mobility-kit/71102333674/ Still ...

Re: Colour of navigation screen

You are using the "Traffic situation info" map and not the normal navigation map. Only the regular navigation map can use "modern" or "classic", but these modes are not available with the traffic info display. That map will always have a greyish look, so that the traffic info stands out a bit better...

Re: Regen braking can be dangerous on icy roads

My apologies ! I believe there may be something wrong with your individual car. We had lots of snow and icy roads in the past few days in CH and I purposely tried to reproduce the behaviour you mentioned. In a 2017 REX with the latest software (and winter tires of course), it is impossible for me to...

Re: Regen braking can be dangerous on icy roads

I've been following this thread from the beginning and finally registered to the forum, because I can't take it anymore. I live in Switzerland and at the end of each working day I have to climb a small mountain (approx. 1500 feet) to get to my home. We have snow on this road for about 4 months out o...
