Re: 12v/cigarette lighter port not turning off

I have owned various BMW's over the years, still own an E21 and an E30 used to have an E46.

One every one of them the cigarette lighter always had power no matter if the car was on or not.

I cannot speak for modern BMW's and have not paid attention to our i3. This may be a BMW thing?

Re: Highest Mileage i3/REX?

We have close to 80K miles on our 2014 REX and would have packed more on if Covid had not hit. My wife driving it 100 miles a day commuting. Plus I drove it all weekend running errands. We purchased used with 20K miles on it, 1 set of tires and one 12v battery is all it has needed. It is due for new...

Re: Looking for an used i3, but am scared of the tire reliability...HELP!

Bought a CPO REX almost 1 year ago with 26K miles on it. It now has over 40K miles on it and the tires look fine, my wife does 90% of the driving in it and drives it nice, I am responsible for 90% of the rear tire wear due to my 10% of the driving. The tires look great, 2 months ago we too...

Re: 33 Years of BMW...

We are now at 42K miles and have not owned it a year yet. IIRC we had 26K miles on it at purchase so we are close to putting 20K miles on it in a year. We have not had a single issue with it. We recently drove it 130 miles one way for a long weekend. We left home with 1/2 tank of gas and 100% batter...

Re: Adding oil to REx

I am sure the link provided covers this. You need to take the engine cover off, to the left of the dipstick is where you add engine oil. I took a picture this evening, after my last service my dealership thought it would be awesome to leave my dipstick unseated, I pissed out about a half a quart of ...

Re: 33 Years of BMW...

Anyone else have nitrogen in their tires? Mine does and it started warning us the tires were low. I am a real big DIY type so I invested in a tank of my own, initial investment with the nitrogen specific regulator and tank deposit was about $240. Now I never have to go to the dealership to top off a...

Re: 115 miles commute.

Hi all, My commute is 115 miles each direction , the first 10 is street and the rest is all freeway at 75mph. Will the i3 capable of such commute without stopping to recharge? I have access to level 2 charging at home and work. Thanks I think it could work, but IMO as someone that's owned two i3 RE...

Re: 33 Years of BMW...

In 5 months we have racked up 8K miles she now has 34K miles on her. Not one problem either. We love the fact we are rarely buying gas. We went from $250 a month in gas to about $40 a month in electricity, we are not 100% sure how much electricity changed it seems to be $40 - $50 which surprised us....

Re: First time BMW i3 after Nissan Leaf. First day 160 mi

It took a few people at BMW to tell me the scoop on the gas release. You have to hold the button and watch the dash. You'll see a message on the bottom that gives pressure status. 90%, 75%, 25%... OK to open. If you just press the button "normally", it doesn't have a chance to relieve the pressure ...

I believe it is Andesite Silver, it kind of reminds me of Bronzit from the E30 era.
