Re: New i3S Rex available in SW Ohio

The car has been de-contented since the early years to save money. The standard radio in my new i3 no longer receives FM HD stations, for example. That’s odd. The 2021 standard features listed HD Radio with multicast FM station reception. The function is turned off by default. When FM is active, pr...

Re: Anyone else having issues with BMW connect App not working?

Agree with eNate. In the six weeks or so I’ve been using My BMW since taking delivery of my 2021, I’ve had zero failures. It’s much more reliable the the previous iterations BMW i app and BMW Connected.

Re: Ordered a new i3s - Debating the ACC - Opinions?

Similar in the US. ACC was bundled in the Technology + Driving Assistant Package. Parking Assistant is a standalone option for the base model only. I believe I read the fender flairs that accommodate the wider wheels/tires on the i3s block the side sensors the system uses to locate open parallel par...

Re: Ordered a new i3s - Debating the ACC - Opinions?

Another US driver seconding eNate’s thoughts. I’ve had a 2014, 2017, and 2021 all fitted with ACC. I use it frequently and consider it integral to the i3 experience. The ‘21 definitely is more refined. I can’t speak to the capacitive steering wheel operation of course. However Quidzel has developed ...

Re: Warranty and experience at the dealership

Yes, it’s confusing because it’s written by lawyers to conform with the applicable federal or California regulations. But the 15-year/15K coverage is the emissions warranty. It only applies when the car fails a smog test. Should your REx refuse to start after the new car warranty ends and it hasn’t ...

Re: Warranty and experience at the dealership

It’s pretty simple. The 4-year/50K warranty cover the entire vehicle except the high voltage battery and the REx emission systems. The high voltage battery has an 8-year/80K warranty and an 8-year/100K capacity warranty. The emission system has either the federal coverage or California coverage depe...

Re: Sound proofing the motor sound?

What is a nightmare in the 2021, however, is the synthetic motor noise that is projected outside of the car for pedestrian awareness. It's far too loud inside of the i3 and I wonder if the OP's concern might be related to this pedestrian warning sound? It's truly awful. I've found some relief in ad...

Re: Comfort: 2014-2017 vs 2018+ ?

I’ve had three BEVs: 2014, 2017, and now 2021. I can’t tell a difference in ride comfort beyond the typical distinctions when you move from a car with a few years on it to brand new. My 2014 had the 19” wheels and all-season tires where the 2017 and 2021 both have the 20” + performance tires. That c...

Re: CCS Charger

It's significantly better today than it was in 2014/15. In the SF Bay Area, there are now hundreds of DC locations, including a seemingly rarely used, double-unit EVGo station in the public side of my condo complex's garage. Over the years, I've experienced many of the issues 3pete highlights but no...

Re: Misty Interior

The system includes a condensation sensor that measures humidity and temperature to prevent windshield fogging. If you see fogging while using the Auto program, make sure the AC button is on because the compressor/condenser reduces the humidity level of incoming air and/or increase the intensity set...
