Re: Rex problems

After nearly 2 years of ownership of our 2015 Rex. We finally had the power steering drop off on the way to work. It was a very strange feeling. I just turned off the car and restarted it, and the problem went away. No lights or other issues after that. It is due for service so I will get the servic...

That's interesting!

How do you suggest that it is attached? What sort of angle would the finished unit sit at?

Have you determined pricing?

Re: Trunk weight limit

We use our i3 for work and need to haul tools and some materials to job sites. I made a checker plate box that runs from the hatch to the just behind the front seats. This means I am not loading on the access cover as my new covers rests on the back of the rear seats (while folded down) and the area...

Re: New Owner here

In my case, I went with the plug-able version as I was in the middle of an exterior remodel of the house. I do not anticipate pulling the plug very often but had a to do it 3 times and once when we did some welding and I used the outlet for the welder. For me it came down to the convenience, there i...

Re: New Owner here

Welcome to the forum! I have a Chargepoint unit. I purchased the unit the has a plug into the outlet to make moving it easier down the road. I installed a dryer outlet in the carport and plug the Chargepoint into that. The cord going to the outlet is quite stiff and short but is has some flex so min...

Re: Some random thoughts about our i3

I am still unsure of how I feel about the back of the car. I saw a white i3 the other day and all I could focus on was the great big white bumper and how close the tail lights are together. I thought it looked really strange. I am not as bothered by mine with the darker grey but still find the light...

Re: 6.6 Kwh chargepoint delivers 6.1 Kwh?

My Chargepoint runs on a 240v 40amp circuit and consistently provides 7.2 kWh of charge to the i3. When my buddy came over and plugged in his Volt, we saw the kWh drop to 3.6 and tried to adjust his car settings to accept more but that was all the car would take. This appears to be determined by the...

Re: Metal shaving in cylinder 2

There is a company that does inspect the oil, I can't remember the name but it is a company that the diesel drivers use. I expect that BMW has already discarded any oil/evidence of the failure. It is strange that this "mystery metal" issue has just come up again in another post. I think the noise di...

Re: L2 Charger slows near end of charge?

My home charger does that too at around 80%, it slows from 7.2 kWh and does a pretty straight decline to 0 kWh. I can see this happening on my Chargepoint App. I think it is the car's battery management that is doing that. The charger is able to continue at a consistent output but the car takes less...

Re: Buying out of warranty I3

We added 3 (up to 84 months total) years to the included warranty and up to 100,000 kms. Called a Platinum Warranty This cost us $3885 CDN. We weren't too concerned about the mileage limit as the car only had 20,000 kms on it when we bought it. It is just our city hoper so the miles aren't going up ...
