Re: How is your battery holding up?

As an update I performed what I think is the re-initialization procedure using ISTA+ 4.14. I now put it on the charger and will see once it charges to 100% overnight what the batt kappa max is afterwards. If that didn't make a difference I'll try to hunt down a copy of ISTA+ 4.10, since that versio...

Re: How is your battery holding up?

The usable battery pack capacity on our 2014 BEV is declining faster than I had hoped it would but not as fast as yours. I have downloaded ISTA+ v. 4.10 (battery pack reinitialization is not supported after a version not much later than 4.10). However, I'm confident that BMW could detect that reini...

Re: How is your battery holding up?

Long time since I've posted here. My Batt. Kappa. Max is now at 13.8 KWh. What should my next step be? I seem to recall that there was a battery re-initialization procedure available in ISTA+. The other thing too is, will the dealer look at the car for free? My 2014 should still be covered by the 8-...

The spam here is insane!

The CAPTCHA must no longer be working right, either that or the registration system got compromised. There is just way too much spam on this forum. I ignored it at first, but they generated about 4-5 pages of garbage threads, burying the important ones. Someone needs to address the issue. BTW, who i...

Re: USED i3 questions

I must say that's surprising. Last I heard Deka world didn't show up in the USA until half way through MY 2016. The order and spec sheets for 2014/15 cars certainly do NOT have Deka as an option. This is certainly interesting. It's not totally out of the question, however, that BMW did a special dea...

Re: New to the i3 and new to EV's

It was difficult to find a 2014 i3 at BMW of Honolulu that did not have this useless option for those living in tropical climates, but I managed :D It's like the economy car, sure they're made if you look at the spec sheet, but when you go to a dealer's lot it seems like all of them have the premiu...

Re: Ohio EV tax

My state (Utah) is phasing in an EV use tax. $60/yr for BEVs, $36/yr for PHEVs, and $10/yr for "hybrids" (I would assume that means Prius?), this is only for the first year- the rates go up from there: (h) in addition to the fee described in Subsection (1)(b): 1850 (i) for each electric motor vehicl...

Re: BMW OEM Dash Cam

What's funny about that statement is that AFAIK, all U.S. i3s have the 20Ah AGM battery! But, it's 20Ah, which means that it's not going to be powering a dash cam for hours on end either. Something interesting would be if the i3's DC to DC converter can turn on while the vehicle is parked and in sta...
