How long do you plan to keep your I3?

Now that we know BMW will not be making these anymore, what do you guys intend to do with yours? Although the car is low maintenance, there still are a lot of moving parts. Wheels, bushings, discs, pads, suspension, steering, etc. If there are no independent manufacturers of these parts, then we wil...

Re: anyone in phoenix/tempe have a obd coder?

Hey i’m looking to see if anyone in the phoenix area has a obd2 coder i can use with bimmercode. Borrowing it would be ideal or i can purchase it off of you! I have an unplanned out of town trip and would rather code the vehicle and drive it than rent a car. Thanks! Why not just buy on Amazon? $20 ...

I don't know but looks like BMW used all the leftover Intel Pentium Processors in the I3. From 1994! :)

Re: Navigation: Eco Pro routes, and BMW's paramaters...

Speaking of the GOM, I've often heard and read that it's based on the last 18 miles or so. That is absolutely not true. At least in my observation. I drive back home from work, a total distance of 18 miles. Stop and go. Plenty of regeneration. I am happy because when I park the car, it shows I still...

Re: Navigation: Eco Pro routes, and BMW's paramaters...

If you are not paying for this real time traffic update then it's OK i guess. IMHO, the BMW software that comes with the car is a joke. For example, my fully charged car shows a 78 mile range. I set a destination in the car's Nav and the GMO now all of a sudden after 4 miles of driving shows a range...

Re: No Parking Assistant for i3s variant?

Yes, the flared front fenders prevent the side-facing ultrasonic sensors used by Parking Assist from being installed in their normal location. However, at least 1 i3 owner who installed S fender flares on his non-S i3 was able to relocate these side-facing ultrasonic sensors to preserve Parking Ass...

Do anyone know how to code to activate the tail lights on the rear bumper?
I wonder if that can be done. Those come on when you open the trunk I think. But it would be cool to activate them full time when the main lights come on.

Re: Announcement about BMW i3 future

Yeah but I couldn't care less about what else BMW is going to offer. I am more worried about "my i3". If the production stops then we are at the mercy of BMW for every little problem or part needed to get the car fixed. Mechanical or otherwise. Should we sell the i3s and get whatever value we can? I...

Re: Traction battery warranty

My i3 is reporting only 14Kwh capacity and the range has diminished considerably since it was new in 1994. Does anyone know at what point the warranty will consider replacing the battery? To check capacity follow the YouTube youtu.be/tw5i1Ki-RpY Jeff I am amazed that your "1994" battery is still do...

Re: Any I3 Owner in Los Angeles know a good Mechanic?

Have you been able to find one? Last thing I'd want to do is pay dealer price for service LOL I actually entrusted my trusty mechanic to do the oil change and the brake flush. Cost me 80 bucks labor plus my parts. He simply took some time to patiently watch the videos I showed him and was able to e...
