Re: Have smaller 6" screen anyway to upgrade to 9" screen?

I have a similar problem. Did you find a solution? Which screen did you upgrade to? i3 2018 - present, are from Kyocera, pre-2018 from Innolux, and not interchangeable, ie. the Kyocera screen will not work on pre-2018 cars, unless you also upgrade the headunit, and Innolux screens will not work on ...

Re: door switch

I have a very narrow single car garage and had the same problem. I put one of these fisheye safety mirrors up where I can see it driving in, and it gives a good view of where the wheels are. I also used yellow tape to outline the exact parking space, to make it easier to see in low light. https://ww...

Re: REX Refueling / Check Engine Light / Fuel Tank And Emissions System Damage

I think this will be be my last BMW there arrogance is just intolerable . You may be misplacing your wrath. BMW Dealers are independent entities running a franchise. Some are great. Some not so much. I have four BMW Dealers in my area. Two of them I wouldn't take my i3 in for service if they paid m...

Re: Apple hires BMW i3 executive to develop apple car

I think it more likely that they are working on an 'Apple' self-driving platform. Kranz left his role at BMW to co-found self-driving startup Canoo. The Tesla execs Apple has been hiring are from the self-driving software development team. Think along with the Apple CarPlay module added to the car a...

Re: Odd Pump Noise

I get it that the compressor will fail for these 2014 models, but no one seems to say anything about the compressor needing replacement as well - removing that would knock off 1,000 from the bill. ... assume you mean "no one seems to say anything about the condenser needing replacement... Many AC t...

Re: Odd Pump Noise

My AC started making that same noise, I pointed it out to the dealer when I had the car in for the brake flush service, and they replaced the AC compressor - thankfully was about a month before the end of the warranty.

Re: Connected Services Ending - Offical

So i haven't seen an email, and I have a 2016 - do we know when the cutoff for this 3G issue is? (by that I mean which models/build dates)
I believe that BMW started putting 4G LTE in i3's in 2018. 2017 and older - 3G.

Re: Routine re-gas of aircon?

:D Yeah, definitely cross that Dealer off your list. Am willing to bet money that if you went along with their $600 AC recharge, it would have been what's known in the biz as 'sunshine service', ie - the Dealer takes in the car, parks it on the back lot in the sun for the day, then returns it to the...
