Re: Ran the REX for the first time....

Has anyone tossed a thick blanket in the trunk to see if it dampens the REX noise a little? There doesn't seem like much sound insulation from the metal "engine hatch" to the cabin area, but I'm not sure if that's the only source. Maybe a good experiment to try (I think I'll have to dig around my cl...

Re: Serious problem with new BMW ConnectedDrive Website (USA)

Posting this in case it helps someone FWIW - I've had the same problem for several months (remote services not working, but other communication such as app updating %charge, eDrive status, etc. working). Unfortunately, after pulling the fuse the problem was not resolved. I was looking at the settings...

Re: Charting Battery Capacity/ State of Health Over Multiple Years

Excellent work! I've also been collecting data that I think compliments your information. On my 2015 REX, the plot of Batt Kappa shows a regression line that says initital battery capacity should be around 22KWH (??) with a slope of -0.0002 KWH/mile (btw green data points are the temp. Also, I tend ...

AGM Charging Voltages?

I installed one of those cigarette plug voltage monitors over a year ago to keep an eye on my 6+ yr old AGM battery voltage, in case it starts to drop off abruptly. I normally see it sitting around 12.4 to 12.8V before the car powers up (depending on what accessory/lights are fired up). My Main conc...

Re: Ecopia Tire Rebates / America's Tire, Discount Tire & Costco...

I just ordered tires from Costco (in US) because of the better pricing. My question is whether anyone has had any issues with Costco installs on I3's, such as damaging the shock boots when jacking up the car, did they need any special adapters for the lift, tire sensor issues, technicians having tro...

Has anyone tried the 'electrified' app'?

I was wondering if anyone has tried the 'electrified' app from the google app store? Looks like it can read some of the high voltage battery status, including SOH%, min/max cell voltages, etc. over OBD2 port using same bluetooth adapters as used by those who coded their I3. I have an iphone, not and...

Range Vs mileage Vs charging speed?

Here is the data that no one wants to see- I pulled data from car gurus dash pictures of mileage and remaining range (normalized to 100% and comfort settings) and various utube videos i could pull data from (bjorn nyland, ElectroBMW-russia) for the 20ah batteries. My own data for for my car plotted ...

Campy Faux Electronaut Badging for I3

I made some faux Electronaut badging for fun, since there isn't much customization around for the i3. if anyone is interested, check out the pictures! I also found an original "Electronaut" embroidered frunk bag at auction too, which really completes the look (sorry, no pictures of that). https://ww...

DIY Maintenance Checklist Draft- Help requested

Hi all, For those outside of warranty & doing maintenance on their own- I've been using this for the past two years, and it helps to make sure I haven't missed checking anything. I tried to compile information regarding dealer main routine servicing items/frequencies, and also problems that should b...
