Re: Any members in New Zealand ?

Anybody heard what the cause of the i3 which burnt to the ground over Nelson way around 9 mths. back? Just want to know what needs to be checked and did they get a new car? I plan to look at the fuel vent line routing across the HV cables fwd of the Rex, already spotted HV cabling not tied in correc...

Re: parking lights remain on

I like to put mine on when driving short trips and turn them off again when I'm finished. there is a gong sounding when opening the door but its the normal warning for a dozen other things and can be missed. I dont have a DRL selection available but regardless I prefer the sidelights as the rears al...

Re: Any members in New Zealand ?

hi again guys with i3 after build date 07/2016 the rear brake discs no longer need replacing so (in my opinion) theres only checking of the fluid levels and oil quality if fitted with rex so I just do those items myself before WOF and reset the service menu. in my town there is a Euro specialist pla...

Re: 3 pin plug charging

It wont do any harm at all, probably the best way to charge, especially with the 60A/hr model. You should use a suitable power point though, if its the standard 13 Amp BS plug then the charge rate 'should' be limited to 11 Amps by the coupler and the point you use 'should' be on a single dedicated w...

Re: Road Tax Charge (UK)

May depend upon the juristicion - has something changed in April 2017? I'm in NZ and EVs currently have temporary exemption from Road User Charges - which apply to "non petrol powered vehicles" at the rate of 7c per km travelled. The i3 REX does use petrol, its a PHEV. I imagine if full road tax wer...

Re: Charting Battery Capacity/ State of Health Over Multiple Years

Thanks for posting, that is very good data to consider. might I ask what pattern of driving is normal and if you use DC 50kW rapid charging or slower methods, whether you do a lot of top ups or run from high SOC to the bottom quarter then recharge? I have a 2017 and contrary to popular advice usuall...

Re: A vs M in Climate Control

I wonder if mine is not closing the outside air vents fully in M. Most of my trips are short and I always have M selected but still get diesel fumes and smoke entering the system from time to time. I cycle the controls Auto to Manual it doesnt fix. This seems to be happening only in the last 6 month...
