Re: Road Tax Charge (UK)

May depend upon the juristicion - has something changed in April 2017? I'm in NZ and EVs currently have temporary exemption from Road User Charges - which apply to "non petrol powered vehicles" at the rate of 7c per km travelled. The i3 REX does use petrol, its a PHEV. I imagine if full road tax wer...

Re: Charting Battery Capacity/ State of Health Over Multiple Years

I have a 2017 and contrary to popular advice usuall...

Re: A vs M in Climate Control

I wonder if mine is not closing the outside air vents fully in M. Most of my trips are short and I always have M selected but still get diesel fumes and smoke entering the system from time to time. I cycle the controls Auto to Manual it doesnt fix. This seems to be happening only in the last 6 month...

Re: How many have had the drive train malfunction error?

Any more info form the dealer? 2014 / 2015 REX models had an issue with moisture getting into the electic machine and ele...

Re: Am radio...

I have a 2017 with the HU-high, and when coding the AM radio (with E-Sys) there were choices like KW band I selected them because I understood shortwave was also a possibility. I concluded that the HU-entry (business) radio might be able to tune the other band, its made by a different vendor. My uni...

Re: Question on coolant, TPMS

The i3 fluids specs I found in some of the generic info pages of NewTisinfo on the service manual question thread https://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5444#p45243 What I mean is when searching these pages they cover a lot of models and years so it takes time to work out the correct ans...

Re: Car in Park: Rollback Damage?

If you can search for "BMW Group University technical training ST1403a" then download "I01 High-Voltage Components" see page 38 for picture of parking lock pawl and gear As you suspect, it is not a good idea to wind up this system if that can be avoided by pressing P when the vehicle is at a stop an...
