Re: Someone towed my BMW i3, it wasn't towed on a flatbed, EDME module failed

If the module alone is $3000, then 30% of just that is $900. Plus whatever labor and shop fees are charged to install it. If you can't get the towing company reimburse you by just asking them and going through BBB, then it might be worth the $300 or so retainer a lawyer might charge you to write a l...

Re: Charge light stays white

What kind of charger is this, in case someone is searching for this solution in the future and finds this thread?

Re: Reverse camera not working

Sorry if it's already occurred to you, but make sure the hatch is completely closed and latched.

Re: Check Your Electric Car For Rodents!

I've got squirrels chewing on my thermoplastic body panels! At least these are native wild animals that don't usually try to live in the human environment except under duress. But any car (or anything else, really) that sits unused for a while can get the truly pestilent rodents (rats, mice, etc.) i...

Re: New Owner here

Wiping action in plugging and unplugging temporary taps to remove oxidation is a well understood thing for decades now. If you notice that a plug is excessively warm to the touch while in use, check the prongs for corrosion, remove it with a scotch brite or brillo pad if you see it, and contract an ...

Re: Is driving with summer tires possible year-round in Texas?

I live in Austin, which never gets more than a dusting of snow ( and completely shuts down until that melts ) but it does get below freezing occasionally. (emphasis mine) That sounds like you'll never have to venture out on wintry roads, so that's in your favor. As others have pointed out, you lose...

Re: Some random thoughts about our i3

Probably THE primary reason I didn't consider an i3 for so long was because it looks so small from the outside (and weird, but...). I was convinced, without any thought, it wss too tiny to replace my allroad wagon. Granted, the cargo volume isn't there, but the passenger space is excellent and meas...

You have the standard audio system, right?

Also, did you upgrade the dash trim from stock Deka?

Re: BMW Connected- reliability?

ConnectedDrive data isn't necessarily instantaneous, and may not have been updated since the last event that triggered an update from the car to the BMW server. In your case, the last update was probably when the car shut down last and reflected the predicted range at that time under those condition...

Re: Improve aerodynamics for better mpK

BTW it has been rather windy today when I drove the car, and I've noticed that the i3 is very wind sensitive.... This is something I hear a lot from i3 owners, but I can honestly say ours is very stable at high speed (70 mph) in very high winds including crosswinds, they get very strong down here. ...
