Re: Some random thoughts about our i3

Probably THE primary reason I didn't consider an i3 for so long was because it looks so small from the outside (and weird, but...). I was convinced, without any thought, it wss too tiny to replace my allroad wagon. Granted, the cargo volume isn't there, but the passenger space is excellent and meas...

You have the standard audio system, right?

Also, did you upgrade the dash trim from stock Deka?

Re: BMW Connected- reliability?

ConnectedDrive data isn't necessarily instantaneous, and may not have been updated since the last event that triggered an update from the car to the BMW server. In your case, the last update was probably when the car shut down last and reflected the predicted range at that time under those condition...

Re: Improve aerodynamics for better mpK

BTW it has been rather windy today when I drove the car, and I've noticed that the i3 is very wind sensitive.... This is something I hear a lot from i3 owners, but I can honestly say ours is very stable at high speed (70 mph) in very high winds including crosswinds, they get very strong down here. ...

Re: Question about 20 inch rims on i3

I am thinking about selling my 2016 i3 Rex and purchasing a 2017 i3 Rex with the larger battery pack. The 2017 I am considering has the 20 inch rims. My understanding is that Bridgestone only offers a summer season tire for the 20 inch rims. My question is whether those tires would be adequate/safe...

Does anyone know what goes in the smaller round hole?
Fallen leaves, just like the rest of the space in the frunk.

Re: 20" wheels, Rex vs. Non-Rex, 2014 vs. 2017

My next question is about REX that I'm hoping some REX users would be able to chime in on. Do you ever actually use it? Is it "okay" to just never use it or will that cause problems eventually? Maintenance an issue for it? I like the idea of having security but I'd like to know the costs besides in...

Re: Uh... Album Art, 2017 & older i3 HD Radio-- or SF Bay Area radio?

Here's a link to some interesting info about what data can be sent by an HDRadio transmitter (and potentially received by a consumer device). https://hdradio.com/broadcasters/engineering-support/ I noticed when scanning around, that some of my local stations send just the unchanging station logo, wh...

Re: Uh... Album Art, 2017 & older i3 HD Radio-- or SF Bay Area radio?

When you see the short all-caps info, you're seeing the old FM RDS station id text. I think the original concept of RDS was that mobile radios (in cars, etc.) would see this info to identify the station in 8 chars, IIRC. FM RDS had a secondary, longer field for program info that wasn't intended to b...

Re: Drive Power cut in cold days

I've never seen the ePower bars go away like that, even with the car sitting outside not charging in single-digit subzero Fahrenheit air temps. Maybe I'm just not looking for it, but don't recall ever noticing that happening. I'll keep my eyes open the rest of the winter.
